It was one of the gayniggers from Imperial Triumphant. Never bothered to check out which one.
How disappointing, I like them. But understandable considering their background. I think they're all jazz school graduates from NYC.

Found a reddit comment. Apparently the apology was also in regards to Deathspell Omega, not only Hate Forest.

There's still an old FB post on their page, praising Hate Forest.

Man I hate this petty bullshit. It's half a step removed from celebrity gossip shit, why am I even researching this stuff.

So I can avoid certain bands/labels/venues.

Edit: Just came across this and it's pretty good. Black Metal but with The Devil's Blood psychedelic heavy metal guitar solos. The uploader draws comparisions to GBK and Svolder tho but I don't think that's very off.

First demo is a bit harsher soundwise and not as escalating as the 2nd one but still pretty good.

1st demo still can be purchased, 2nd one is already sold out.

I get it, but when I find myself scouring through bands' social media and interviews just to find out what their stance on this or that other spicy happening is, am I so much better than those stasi kommissariat fucks that compile their lists of "allowed/ not allowed" bands?

I mean, this one wasn't like that you thought to yourself "Man, I wonder what random band xy is up to I have to do detective work so I can hopefully shit on them". You simply did the research bc it got brought up here and as it looks to me we both can agree that the apology itself is absolute fucking embarrassing. Not only bc it's just happened bc said musician mentioned a somehow shady band as influence on his own work but also the very way the apology is worded. It's worded in complete buck broken woke newspeak. "I HAVE PRIVILIGES AND THUS I CAN NOT EVEN MENTION WHAT I'M SECRETLY LISTEN TO PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!". Fucking gay. Wouldn't @Healthy Boy Brand have mentioned Steelfest, a Finish festival for extreme metal bands, we wouldnt even talk about a somehow "extreme" metal band from New York. So in my books you'll pass the test of not being a list compiling stasi kommissariat fuck. Because those fuckers actively go out of their ways to find hints of verboten things and then try to police everyone. I don't see you policing anybody here.

Yeah you're right. I think I'm trying to cover up my disappointment of finding out a band I like would put out such an apology. At least they're not paedos (I hope).

Imagine going back to the XIII Century somewhere in the French* countryside and finding a group of travelling troubadours. You give them water spiked with acid, blast them with some BM classic like Immortal, and then hide in the bushes with a microphone to record the next few hours. The album Psychofoédale Herpétocratie by Noble Déchet would be the result. I class it as looney tunes blackened progressive folk metal.

Brilliantly unhinged stuff. They know their stuff about medieval music, too, and use plenty of old instruments. I rarely like folk metal, but this whole album is a trip. There's also an Emperor cover.

One of my favorite tracks is La Clef de l'Arbre Creux:
First part is slow, at about 3:25 it takes off.

*Noble Déchet are from Québec, akshully
