That Metal Thread

When I was getting into metal in high school I really only liked thrash/death metal/black metal but I've been getting into more melodic stuff like epic doom metal and the riffs on this entire album are great. As I get older I appreciate more metal that's not just pure dissonance/speed.

Then you might enjoy Ne Obliviscaris or Aether Realm, they're by far my favourite metal bands one being extreme prog and the other melodic metal, both incorporating dual vocals and violin.

Full Drudkh EP is out.

Melo(death) mentioned so here's more:

Fulci seems pretty lame but that song with rapping is worth checking out if you need a hearty laugh.
They've been growing on me. Their brand of high concept gimmick death metal appeals to me more than Blood Incantation's. And I guess I can see the logic in having an NYC underground rapper do like 45 seconds of rapping on a concept album about a serial killer in NYC. Seems that guy has been dropping metal references in his own songs for a good long while. It's interesting trivia if nothing else.

I appreciate hiphop more when the lyrics deal with real-world things that I can personally relate to, like being monitored by the CIA, metal, Satanism, and calling people retarded.

The Jews are trying to prevent the youth from listening to true black metal. We can't allow them to succeed!

New Bogside Sniper Squadron, rather long time to wait just for six songs. Not as good as the EP in my opinion, but to be fair that's a tough act to follow and it's still a solid album.

I've been searching for an album but I can't remember its name or the band that recorded it. The second half of the album is the first half in reverse. I don't recall there being any vocals and it came out between maybe 2012-2016. Anyone know what it is?

The only thing I can think of is Unlucky Morpheus' Cadaver/Revadac EP, but that was 2018, and has vocals.

New single from the upcoming album of Adelaide locals Anggrath.
Really like these guys, but they put a bad taste in my mouth after I heard they replaced their frontman for saying mean things about Indians on social media. I'd be amazed if they managed to get someone who could match his energy during live shows.
