Owls are pretty neat

I uhhhh, think you might be right, I think I mistook the dragonfruit's distinctive spotted pattern of the fruit's flesh as the patterns on a bird's feathers, mistook tailfeathers as the desiccated dangly bits off the lower left side and mistook a head and beak on the upper right.

wow how embarrassing
No worries! You got me to stare at a picture of a dragonfruit for about ten minutes while I ate lunch. Expert level trolling, lol.

You should do that again next time you drop a bunch of birb pics. Just slip in a random pic of a flower or weird shaped fruit. Keeps us on our toes!

there's been a few muscovy ducks lurking outside of one of the local grocery stores
usually it's been just one, sometimes two
the other day it was three, and one had a wing that was clearly in bad shape, I assume broken, def flopping out to the side in a way duck wings aren't supposed to
there were none today
muscovy ducks are assholes by and large, but these guys were mostly chill as long as you gave them a foot or so of space
local animal control is pretty good about not just killing critters when possible, so hopefully at least two of them merely got relocated

We have a muscovy duck problem in my bestie's neighborhood down here. People were feeding them and the population exploded. Duck poop everywhere, ducks marching through traffic, ducks chasing people down for treats. Their chill was entirely gone unless you sacrificed snacks to them for the right to pass them by. Giant pain in the ass - and they are chasing out native ducks (they're not native to this area) because some certain loons are enamored with how big and friendly they are when fed to the point of being producers for foie gras.
