When I first saw the cage in the back of the truck I thought it was empty. But then we both stopped at a light and a bunch of tiny birb faces popped up and looked around! When we were driving they ducked back down, but at every stoplight they would pop back up for a bit, lol

There was a time where a peahen was on our roof. It started doing a mating call ( i think that's what it was ) and both me and my rooommate were so confused until we went outside and saw it was a peahen.
Up until then I only heard the male's calls, so hearing the female was... different. We thought someone was being hurt or something.

Anyways peacocks and peahen are common in my area. I wish one day I could see their chicks, but idk if they'd just be out and about like that similarly to ducks- i doubt it.

Common Thrushes of the U.S. and Oy-rope:
American Robin :
1674064847012.png
  • Unlike the European Robin, is a big ol' thrush (very round)
  • Colorful orange, black, and grey with white underpants (very cute)
  • Pretty song, also likes to scream in spring mornings to declare a tree theirs (funny, doesn't wake you up ever)
  • Chirp chorps, BEEP boop boops
  • Very conspicuous hunting method of running around and standing straight up
  • Does not visit feeders (very sad)

Eurasian Common Black Bird:

  • Sleek black body (not as round as the pot-bellied American Robin)
  • Very beautiful song, likes to sing after rainstorms (aesthetic)
  • Cheep cheeps
  • Also likes to make noise in the morning, less screechy than the Robin
  • More conspicuous than the Robin, when people approach the blackbird likes to sound his alarm call and fly across the path of the people
  • Darts around very fast on their little leggies
  • Likes to waddle around in the underbrush more than American Robins, look for their little orange points in the shade when you hear something thrushing around
  • May visit feeders depending. They like to visit a feeder cam based out of Germany
  • eBird Page
Both birbs are worth seeing IRL, they're very characteristic.
