Kauaʻi ʻōʻō. A bird native to Hawaii that unfortunately gone extinct in 1987. There was even a recording of the last one of it's kind trying to find a mate.

They remain very cute, and I am able to get pretty close. Still need to keep bread in my truck. Will continue to update.
don't feed them bread or any sort of processed grain food. if you can get your hands on some oats, peas, corn, or greens like lettuce and kale, then I think they would fare much better.

I've been delving into other chicken breeds to distract myself, and look at these lil guys. They're called seramas or kikirikis, and they're fucking tiny. Most of my other chickens are bantams (which just means small breeds), but I have a few brahmas because I like how big they are (they're also very chill).

I posted this in the Jack Scalfani thread, too, but look at her.....

Haha! That video reminded me of roosters’ wiley ways. The video cut before a scuffle kicked off, but when I had a light Brahma and he was feeling a bit cheeky, he’d pretend to be scratching for bugs to distract and redirect so he could attack. Both roosters in that video are basically pretending to not care so they can surprise attack one another.

I have a cousin who had a pet kikiriki named Fatty, he was the cutest little thing. He’d come up to you and ask to be picked up and just wanted to be carried around al lady like a kitten

In the back yard, finally got a picture of the blue jay on the potato. Also bonus picture of twerpy Carolina Chickadee and what I believe is a house finch.
