I've noticed a lot of gay and bi dudes and dudettes on this forum so I decided we should make an alliance. A gay straight alliance that will stand the test of time and fight bigotry wherever it stands.

Post a role model of yours that's gay, (or straight if you're gay, or gay if you're gay, or transsexual if you're a lesbian, whatever).
Post experiences you've had being bullied or persecuted or defended or whatever the hell. Talk about being gay and being in an alliance with filthy breeders.

Just remember, everyone's a freak, and there's nothing wrong with that.

My role model: ROB HALFORD THE METAL GOD!
rob-halford-judas-priest-concert-at-the-hamersmith-apollo-march-16-2005-6rKMad.jpg

The greatest and loudest vocalist of all time, he was officially crowned the metal god. If you don't know anything about Rob Halford or Judas Priest, you don't know shit about metal. He's one of the manliest of men and he's absolutely, positively gay. He hid his homosexuality from people who weren't in the band, although most of us already knew. He was afraid of persecution from a society that was in fear of HIV and the ignorance surrounding the disease, at that time dubbed "The Gay Cancer". When he finally came out he was accepted by most metalheads, but the ones who weren't accepting of him were very vocal about the opposition to his sexuality, yet still he powered on with his high pitched, screeching vocals, ignoring the hatred and bigotry that was leveled against him. His baddassery earned him two speaking roles in the video game Brütal Legend, both as General Lionwhyte and the leader of the Fire Barons, who are fittingly a group of bikers who light shit on fire.

He popularized wearing Leather and Studs for metalheads and heshers. If you were to perform a mathematical assessment on how many more studs Rob Halford could wear, you would come to the conclusion that he could wear no more studs, as he is already wearing all of the studs in the world.

Oh yeah, and this song, which was eventually covered by the heaviest of metal bands, Slayer:

At 0:35, Rob steps on a Lego.

Aah, I was a member of a GSA Club in high school. During my run there I was treated kinda badly.

By the club itself.

But that's another rant for another day. All I'd like to say is that I'd like to start another GSA club at my high school with far more competent leadership.

Alan Turing. Father of computing and computer science and artificial intelligence, his work is the source of all the advances computers brought to civilisation and our lives, and thus probably one of the greatest inventors and scientists in human history. Better yet, he (alongside other codebreakers) was one of the biggest reasons the western allies triumphed in WW2 against Nazi germany on the western front and beyond due to the cracking of enigma thus allowing the allies to learn all of Nazi Germany's most secret plans long ahead of time, a factor whose importance is impossible to overestimate in the allied victory.

In gratitude for his actions, the british government imprisoned him for the crime of being gay a few years after the war, "chemically castrated" him (i.e. pumped him full of chemicals to the point where his body started to mutate) and treated him as a freak till he committed suicide shortly afterwards.

Aren't you in college already?

As for me, I don't think we ever had one of those, but we never had issues with gays or straights bickering at each other or being picked on, so I guess no one saw a need for one outside of discussing national issues. There was an overwhelming amount of support for LGBT rights in my high school, and I was part of that. And if it wasn't support, it was apathy which isn't really as bad as straight up hating the idea.

I don't think I have any gay role models, though. It's really just a part of life for me. That is to say I can't really name most of my role models that aren't related to me in some sort of way.

Yep. Doesn't mean I can't be involved with stuff there.

Anyway, haven't seen much discrimination for myself here. I live around "the 2nd gayest city in America" after all.

It does, according to my teachers and counselors.

Oh well, let it be known the high school staff had something against me, then.

I don't think any list of LGBT role models would be complete without Stephen fry, national treasure. Even though he has struggled with clinical depression throughout his life. He's a talented and accomplished actor, Voice actor, screenwriter, author, novelist, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian, television presenter, radio presenter, film director, entrepreneur, president of a mental health charity and an activist. As well as being a degree holder and an all round Beloved national treasure.

(of course Chris would only acknowledge him as the narrator from a vidya that he likes, chiefly because he's :stupid: )

I'm centaursexual, only attracted to Centaurs. I was bullied a ton growing up by Cis haters, telling me centaurs aren't real. But look at me now;I got me a centaur husband, so take that!

I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body. You have no idea what kind of Cisgendered scum I have to deal with.

I'm straight, Mormon, mostly conservative politically, but I'm Pro-LGBT rights all the way. My best friend is gay and I've got several other friends covering the whole LGBT spectrum.
