The Elder Scrolls

put an embarrassing amount of time into ESO. trifecta'd everything, 5 star pvp+emp. made me hate elder scrolls for a bit. wondering how TESVI will handle the lore implications of like 15 daedric invasions, countless other world-ending threats, and a continent-wide war canonically happening in the space of a year. either you retcon a shitload of stuff, or you retcon everything eso retconned. eso doesn't really have any place in the main game lore imo, even if it takes place like a thousand years before the other games. also eso designs have leaked into other tes media and they're dogshit. if the rumors are true and VI is in daggerfall and we see generic european knights fighting gray-green orcs in the most ugly gray-green armor ever conceived I'm going to be reasonably dissatisfied.
Bretons have always been generic European knights, it's their most redeeming quality. But you're right about orcs, since even by Skyrim their style was already muddied into a more basic Lord of the Rings-esque grey-green appearance. Skyrim is most to blame for the shitty new aesthetic that subsequent TES games tend to ape.

I thought Tainted Grail was pretty good. It's had a lot of updates since launch and they just released a DLC for it actually. It feels more like a first-person souls game than like TES though.
the mods aren't that good either, it's unity and unity has been giving modders a problem with the unity 6000 thingy but extended scripting is just on the realm of impossibility for that game.

i don't think they will retcon eso, they might make it worse though by making TESO/TESVI item cross stuff, hell they might even canonize that shitty TES shelter shite there is on the phones, not to mention TES Blades (:_(
anyone that gives a passing shit about the lore is getting so fucked because of retarded faggots in writing positions....

I tried tes shelter out of curiosity and now I have zero hopes for the series. It’s over. We had a good run I guess.

bretons are the white men of tamriel, ruling as its emperors in its golden age
imper*als are swarthy jungle ital*ans

Orcish armor needs to go back to having a Mongolian influence IMO

At least that's what I always thought it looked like in Oblivion. Morrowind was a bit more iffy.
For the sake of comparison here are all the Orcish armors from Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO (Orcish Style Heavy Armor) respectively:

eso really went very surface-level with armor designs. you can tell whoever designed orc armor didn't know any lore and just figured they were your generic evil fantasy orcs. nomad-inspired armor really fits their lore and is super unique compared to orcs in any other fantasy setting.

same for bretons. on the surface sure, they're generic western europeans. but lorewise they have elven ancestry and are very attuned to magic. so why doesn't the armor reflect that with like runes n shieet? even the newer redesigned breton armor still looks super generic. one could say the same with nords = generic vikings, imperials = generic romans, redguards = generic north africans. it's just so lazy and there is lore and design precedent that they could have played with and just... didn't? a lot of skyrim armor is shit too but at least it there was some effort to make it unique. even a lot of the newer dlc styles are lazy and more focused toward the fashion crowd rather than maintaining a cohesive aesthetic or lore or whatever. maybe i'm just being autistic. getting dripped out in ESO isn't hard but it never felt truly "Elder Scrolls"

Do you own any Elder Scrolls merchandise or collectibles? I have a replica of the Amulet of Kings but that's it. I was thinking of buying the Hermaeus Mora plushie too.

>Plushie
Only fags, troons, and women get those...better than those bobblehead things that had all the IPs permission but are still going bankrupt. An actual Amulet of Kings necklace is dope though.

If it counts, I have the collector's edition of Oblivion which came if the pocket guide and a septim and Morrowind GOTY which came with a map of Vvardenfell.
