This is from a few weeks ago, but...

This guy on YouTube made a 2 hour video on how bad of a character Delphine from Skyrim is. What do you guys think; agree, disagree, maybe stand somewhere in the middle with it all?

Word of warning; the narration is a bit... crap; very monotone, he goes off on tangents constantly, and he often skips around and jumps back and forth between points with very little consideration. The AI voice does not help, and the whole video feels pretty amateurish at best.

"core in game fact" "there is an obscure piece of lore" Not to mention the spelling and grammar mistakes...
She sucks but I do tend to kill the dragon just to be a contrarian and he talks too fucking slow, wasting my time.

You were sent for one reason and it wasn’t meditation with a tyrant. I murder lizards for looking at me funny, dragons are just bigger lizards made of divine-stuff. I don’t care who voiced him, I got shouts to unlock and houses to buy. That lizard is just a bank.

Eh, on the fence about killing Parth myself; he's a much more interesting character than Delphine, frankly, and I do prefer the Greybeards.

Maybe after I finish Skyrim, I'll run a proper "kill everyone" playstyle...

I’m not killing everyone, I just hate all the gay shit in this game.

I killed the edgy simp club (a faggot I know made every DnD character just Astrid), used the “Destroy the Thieves Guild” mod, led the Stormcloaks to victory, refused to become a furry, massacred the orc strongholds (not your land) and have been fervent in following my character’s oath to Meridia AKA best girl.

Based and true.

THIS NIGGA TOUCHING BEACONS.

joke aside, i'd like to express my frustration at the current modlist environment, i haven't found one skyrim modpack that doesn't include 4K textures, survival mod that still gives nords frostbite while giving zero fucks to the fact that they are immune to cold, coom shit and turn the game into some soulslike gameplay and the worst part is that you can't even change one mod or else the whole installation fucking implodes.
i would complain about the 300GB install size but i got a 1TB nvme recently specifically for gaems so...

I don't think killing Paarth is the "Oh my Science, absolutely wrong" choice redditards seem to think it is.

But Delphine goes about it the entire wrong way, and just sounds like an absolute fucking retard when she seemingly confuses her oath as a Blade (which, has probably changed in the past 200 years, but is known to us as protecting the Septim Dragonborns) with the actions of the Akaviri Dragonguard (which just happened to be that they liked to murder dragons while also protecting Reman and his heirs)

Delphine and Esbern would actually be more interesting characters if they felt so strongly about the issue that they forsake their Oath to the Blades and abandoned the Dragonborn to form a new Dragonguard tbqh

trying to say that delphine vs parth is the main reason why she is hated is such a alzheimers moment.
delphine is fucking hated because she is bossy with your dragonborn from the moment you ask about the fucking horn, if she wasn't bossy then yeah you'd have alot more people joining in to bash the reddit fags that seethe about having to kill le heckin dragorinno when he himself mentions that it's not a bad idea to kill him at all, esbern is just forgotten about because all he does is be a history nerd and give you radiant quests.

I'm just talking about how retarded her writing is even beyond just being a bitch

"Former Elder Scrolls writer and lore master Kurt Kuhlmann speaks on why he left Bethesda:

  • ️ Elder Scrolls 6 was supposed to be their next game after Fallout 4
  • ️ Todd Howard had promised him the lead design role on TES6, only to find out 11 years later that they went with someone else
  • ️ The vibe at Bethesda was very different after Skyrim's success (Kuhlmann was co-lead on Skyrim)
  • ️ "Of course, after Fallout 4 we didn't go to TES6, we made Fallout 76, and then even then we didn't make TES6, we made Starfield, which became this extremely long project compared to other ones."
  • ️ Kuhlmann left Bethesda in 2023 after 20+ years
  • ️ He says the problems at Bethesda pre-date the Microsoft acquisition
  • ️ As the years went on, design leads (including Todd Howard's role) became less hands-on and more "bureaucratic"
  • ️ His version of Elder Scrolls 6 was going to be like 'Empire Strikes Back'.
  • ️ The elven supremacists were the bad guys and they would ultimately come out on top, setting up TES7."

God, this would have been so much better than the Skyrim 76 we're going to end up with.

This probably would have been preachy, though I agree it would have definitely been better than whatever shit we're going to get. Add an option for Altmer players to join the Thalmor and subjugate Tamriel's goyim and I'd be fully erect.

I never really understood the point of 4k textures on literally everything, at most I go up to 2k and I can barely tell the difference between that vs. 4k.

Would've been interesting if we got this version of the Elder Scrolls 6. Antagonists coming out on top is certainly a different approach from the standard narrative fare where good ultimately triumphs in some way by the end of a game.

Definitely interesting, would have been a cool idea 12-15 years ago, but it's been way too long to get an ending where you're blueballed by the Thalmor. On that note, Empire Strikes Back worked because we were following the same characters. You gonna start TES 6 as the legendary god slaying Dragonborn? Continuity? Hammerfell setting? You better fucking not make us play as Nazeem.

i wouldn't say retarded, they do excuse their old-ways blades shieet by saying they've been on the run from the (((thalmor))) for a good while now, it's why esbern is locked in the sewers and shieet but delphy bitchy character is what makes the regular player hate her and only her, even if esbern is still on his old imperial-blade ways but with dragon killing he still not, well, bitchy towards your character and that's why he doesn't get hate, especially with him adopting the NEETcore lifestyle until you knock on his door to say the goldie ones found him and all.

they've been on the run from thalmossad for so long the only thing they can keep having a sense of self is their blade ways, so much so the thalmor does keep away from the blades once they settle in skyrim but that's probably because the writers didn't bother making a raid or an assassin shit on the blades temple after you complete rebuilding the blades sidequest but that is mainly on the writers being lazy fucks, that's why dragonguard is mentioned here and there then forgotten about, there are probably mods for that though...

you are right because they have been doing a retirement of the previous protagonist with godfucking slying powers and there's always the crackhead cats.
