During the part of Oblivion's main quest where the player is tasked with tracking down the commentaries on the mysterium xarxes, the retarded argonian librarian at the arcane university makes an offhanded remark about being unsure if the Mankar Camoran that authored the texts is the same as the one existing in the present day but that altmer are extremely long lived and one never knows. I'd take that as confirmation that banana boys live a long ass time. He lived ~450 Tamrielic years and likely would have lived longer had he not been killed, although he was Dagon's champion and the effect that might have had on his lifespan is out for debate.
Yeah it's snippets like this that make me think I'm not crazy but normally it's hand waved as "mages can extend their lifespan". The issue is that the vast majority of High elves that you met are mages because they are the most magically gifted race. IIRC there was some lore snippet that a 200 or 250-year-old High elf is the equivalent of a 22-year-old in our world

Sorry for the double post. posted it before and tried to delete it and merge it with the post above but I got timed out of editing the post.

Here is a quote that supports my idea:

"Katisha chose to ignore this last comment. She was amused at the girl's hyperactive imagination, took it as a sign of a well-functioning mind. "I think Straw will be a very old man before 'someday' comes, Berry. Elves live for a very long time." Katisha's face briefly wore the envious, wistful look humans got when contemplating the thousand-year lifespan Elves had been granted by the gods. True, few ever actually lived that long as disease and violence took their respective tolls. But they could. And one or two of them actually did." - The Real Barenziah V2

How is Skyrim's modding scene at the moment? My hope for TES6 took a nosedive to earth's core after the shitshows that were Fallout 76, Starfield and various bullshit Bethesda has done over the years since its announcement and I doubt TES6 will be able to fix that, might as well come back to Skyrim or even Oblivion.

Sorry if this is off-topic but does anyone else remember Altmer having really long life spans ( by long I mean they could live to be a thousand years old)? I am trying to look through UESP but all the sources are from Q&As from ESO writers which I refuse to accept as real lore.
You may be thinking of this passage in The Real Barenziah (volume 3 in the based version, volume 2 in the non-based version)
"I think Straw will be a very old man before "some day" comes, Berry. Elves live a very long time." Katisha's face briefly wore the wistful look humans got when contemplating the thousand year life span that elves were entitled to by nature. True, few ever actually lived that long, as disease and violence took a toll, but they could.

Pretty good. We can have more than four light sources per cell thanks to Light Limit Fix. Open Animation Replacer and Nemesis are pretty great animation frameworks. I'd suggest getting Community Shaders, a good weather mod like NAT or Azurite II, the three Lux mods, and Imaginator to make your game look good without having ENB forcing you to have 20 to 30 FPS in cities.

Neloth is in Morrowind and Dragonborn, and he was a high ranking Telvani wizard in Morrowind as it was.

Not to mention Barenziah was alive during Tiber Septims time to at least Morrowind.

And that's just Dark Elves, so it's logical that High Elves would live just as long if not longer.

All elves living for hundreds of years make no sense honestly. Imagine spending 300 years as a tavern keeper.
Would make more sense if it was just mages who could extend their lifespan

Elves generally live 3 to 4 hundred years, but 500 is not out of the question for ones that take very good care of them selves. think of it like every 50 years for a human is 20 for a mer, it just so happens that the live styles of the Dunmer and Bosmer allows them a shorter life in most cases, as Altmer often enjoy the highest quality of life, without heavy red meat (as well as other people) diet of the Bosmer, and the extremely salty (salt rice, kwama eggs, and scrib jerky) diet of the Dunmer, Wizards like the Telvanni have a number of ways of extending their lives, though the most known method appears to be the draining of youth also practiced by the Mabrigash as seen in the legion questline in morrowind. For Altmer it is probably more living life in a slower stride as Pynaster prescribed.

Yeah, I think this is correct.

I think most of the elves who live thousands of years are all high practicing mages, and then you have people like Barenziah who are called "old" at around 300-400 years.

You also need to consider that writers in bethesda don't consider consistency, thanks to their enlightened lead, it's not as pronounced as fallout, but you can sometimes find them break lore or write nonsense.

The arena was shit and even my 13 year old self playing it for the first time hated it. The only thing it had going for it was it was mercifully short. I'm not sure who loved it but they should be kicked in the shins.
Owyn the arena master is one of my favorite characters though. He's the biggest asshole in the game.

This shit has been going on for far long than Emil has had any sort of power, though...
