Can someone explain to me what the fuck creation club content is and why it has to be downloaded for skyrim anniversary edition. I fucking doubt its high quality content.

On a sidenote anyone know how to make wabbajack actually detect cc content after the fact as I was a gigantic faggot and didnt read the readmes properly and fucked up the modpack installation.
I reinstalled the game and was prompted to turn on Survival Mode right after escaping Helgen, and I was like, "I don't remember this being in the game before." That said, I'm pretty sure the new content broke Gerdur's quest for me.

It's the content from the paid mods fiasco repackaged. It's utter dogshit for the most part. Copy paste player homes and shitty bugged quests.

I recently had to engage with it because it was required for a mod collection I was trying out to work. The mod collection itself was pretty good and well put together but the creation club content was like an infestation. Every time there was a significant issue that required console shenanigans to fix the creation club was to blame.

As a result I have since uninstalled the otherwise quite good mod collection and I cannot in good faith recommend it here so I won't even mention its name.

One example of bad creation club content is the "Legends Lost" quest which adds Sunder and Wraithguard to Skyrim after chasing a series of notes across the map. It culminates in a Dwemer/Falmer dungeon near Winterhold and it's completely bugged out. To get into the final part of the dungeon you have to turn clipping off, go through a wall, and activate an invisible door. Additionally if you manage to get Wraithguard and Sunder before finishing the College of Winterhold side quest where the guy hits a soul gem with keening and disappears it has no bearing, dialogue, or interaction despite the guy saying "well I don't have wraithguard and sunder here" which he will still say even if you're standing there wearing wraithguard and holding sunder.

Absolute trash.

MWSE (OpenMW is for noobs)
MGEXE (distant land)
Morrowind Code Patch
Patch for Purists
Tamriel Rebuilt (the best mod ever made, also grab Skyrim Home of the Nords and Project Cyrodiil)
Ashfall (camping, survival, crafting, cooking, etc)
Poison Crafting (lets you make poisons, apply them to weapons, and use alchemy equipment as a world item)
Ultimate Fishing (fishing, integrated with Ashfall)
Joy of Painting (make some art, also integrated with Ashfall)
Morag Tong Polished (improves Vvardenfell Morag Tong, works well with TR)
Lock Bashing (bash locks open at the cost of weapon durability, based on strength and fatigue, a good alternative to lockpicking or magick)
Beast Boots (allows beast races to wear boot armor by making it shin plates, still cant wear shoes)
Less Generic NPCs
Perfect Placement (makes placing items a lot easier)
Stormrider TR (Purchase a ship you can sail around, live on, fast travel to various locations with, etc. The TR version adds Tamriel Rebuilt travel options and a teleport to cabin ring)
Rise of House Telvanni (with 2.0 upgrade)
Uvirith's Legacy (with RoHT Compatibility patches)
Weapon Sheathing (with bow position tweak)
Bound Armorer's Hammers (summon repair hammers)
Sneed's Feed and Seed (yes its a real mod, look it up)
CharGen Revamped (alternate start)
Thirteen Telvanni (gambling card game)

No, I'm not linking them, too much work.
Yeah I can see why.

You don't know about that shit? Oh boy I have another excuse to shit on CC slop! I'm going to assume you know what CC is and are just asking what the Anniversary Edition has? TL;DR shit that by itself isn't worth paying for in a vacuum but real modders can use to liven up the world more than Bethesda ever can, even the free shit like fishing which the original creator heavily gimped is enhanced greatly by better modders. I mention this as you mentioned Wabbajack in the other half of your post, and a lot(raincheck) of Wabbajack lists use AE this days. As for why you're forced to download it...I mean you bought it right? As for the free shit...dunno but you can at least disable what you don't want.
On a sidenote anyone know how to make wabbajack actually detect cc content after the fact as I was a gigantic faggot and didnt read the readmes properly and fucked up the modpack installation.
Hm, judging by the first half of your post you had to have ran Skyrim at least once to install the AE shit, say are you using the Steam or GOG version of Skyrim? Due to how hashes and shit work, if a modlist requires the Steam version of Skyrim and you have the GOG version, you're fucked. I think some mods have problems too on top of that, it's retarded and why I can only recommend Skyrim on Steam (in-contrast of me recommending Daggerfall anywhere but Steam). Basically, Skyrim's version, down to the game's hashes, needs to be 1:1, if anything is even slightly different it doesn't work. This video has a lot of fixes for various basic problems you might come across.
Haven't heard of this shit before, always defaulted to Tools of Kagrenac for those specific tools (don't forget the better Keening). The most egregious once I know of-in terms of lore and implementation rapeage at least-is the Divine Crusader. The Crusader Relics are for the most virtuous of us. So much so as that if you are impure the gear will be unliftable like Thor's Hammer (forgive the capeshit version, I mentioned the capeshit version as in the actual mythology IIRC Mjolnir was just heavy as fuck so only Thor or people with Thor's strength can wield it as opposed to being "locked to the unworthy"). If you are "pure" but commit a sin while wearing or wielding the gear, they will slip off of you and out your hands (lore wise). So how and why the fuck do Bandits have them. Their original fucking name before they became "unique" npcs was "Bandit Thief". They wore the fucking full set and even a light armor "reforged" variant (fun fact, light shields exist in the game, the light armor does not come with a light shield variant of the Shield of the Crusader, it's just a shoulder piece, it works with mage armor too).

The new "lore fixed" version (the lore rape was so bad that I think this is the first and only Creation Club mod to be revamped because of how bad it was) made it so that the two bandits (now named) did not in fact have the items. Instead two dead bandits somehow got the armor on and died. The armor isn't supposed to kill you, if you're evil you can't even wear, if you become "impure" while wearing it it'll slip off, so no idea how these bandits even got the armor on in the first place. I will give credit where credit is due, if you are a bad person you can't wear the armor (I think, I haven't checked the specifics of the mod in a while), if you wear it and perform a crime you instead can't regenerate stamina (I don't believe you can bypass it worth enchantments and potions) and your carry weight is reduce by 100 (lol) but can still wear it...nice lore fix jackass.

Alright, so lets say you're a goody two shoes and never commit any crime, great! You should be able to wear it, right? Not for long faggot as the mod's scripts were even less proof-read than the lore! What is recognized as a "sin" is a fucking enigma as it seems that even sneezing is considered one. A villain attacks you first and you have to commit self-defense? Sin. Enter a dungeon of any sort as a random ass cave in the middle of bumblefuck nowhere? Sin, you're trespassing on this...uh...bear's territory. Somehow not get labeled a sinner for entering a dungeon and defending yourself but find a chest that you have to lockpick? Sin you dirty thief! So how do you redeem yourself? Go on a pilgrimage of course. It consists of finding shrines placed all over Skyrim (no you can't go to the temple of Solitude, that's cheating) in unmarked locations that usually have enemies surrounding it, if you commit a "sin" while in the middle of a quest you have to start all over, and remember what I said about defending yourself you filthy sinner? And if you do this pilgrimage and then proceed to do an arbitrary action that the game considers a "sin" you have to do the pilgrimage all over again. Oh and the quest is buggy too so it might not even clear your "sins" and allow you to wear the armor. Have fun, $5 please (remember when in response to the outrage over the pricing of credits, Bethesda raised them? That was funny)!

Sorry for the sperging, I'm a lore nerd and I love to shit on mod authors, CC or otherwise. Do yourself a favorite, disable that shit and get either The Breton Paladin or my personal favorite The Doom Drum. Matter of fact, take my """associate's""" (probably outdated) Creation Club alternatives guide. And if you see him, tell him to tell me I'm a faggot for not writing more guides myself. The guide also has a remade quest for the Creation Club addon if you insist on using it.

Steam Skyrim and I figured it out for some reason the ingame downloader HATES alt tabbing in that it will straight up won't download. Also I had to play the intro until I made a save and relaunch the game before it actually started properly downloading the cc content. Hopefully once its done wabbajck will be able to verify it properly.

Also interesting stuff thanks for the loredump.

Edit: once the creations downloaded it verified properly

(how have I not heard of this mod?)
It's kind of niche I suppose though it is part of the Merlord pantheon of mods. I did have an idea for a pretentious Altmer artist RP character where you try to survive by making and selling artwork. I wrote down a whole build for it somewhere.
(or do you mean this one?)
No you had it right the first time, I've never heard of that other one.
(Updated? It says II and the description seems to talk about fixes to the original mod, is in Russian so bring a translator)
I use the one you liked under (TR) specifically. It's an improvement over the original for sure, adding an actual fucking bed in the captains cabin so I don't have to either put down a bedroll or go below deck to use a hammock, providing more fast travel destinations including Stirk to access Cyrodiil and Thirr to get past the otherwise impassable town of Almas Thirr in Tamriel Rebuilt, as well as the Telvanni Isles which saves you a long sail around the peninsula where Nivalis is. I'm playing around in Cyrodiil now and it was super cool to bring my playerhome with me and use it to traverse the islands. There's also an added "teleport to cabin" scripted ring that works like the Baluath amulet from TR or the Telvanni Teleport ring from Uvirith's Legacy. Speaking of which...
(patches included in zip)
It's been a hot minute since I made my Breton Telvanni Wizard character. I've been waiting for the TR team to release their planned update of the Telvanni regions of the mainland that's reportedly in the works before I remake him again. However I remember that even with those patches I had to do a bit of console shenanigans to get the teleportation pads to spawn in correctly. Maybe they updated the patches since then though. Either way once you get them all working together the combination of Uvirith's Legacy and Rise of House Telvanni is, IMO, unmatched in terms of making you feel like a powerful wizard.

Bound Armorer's Hammers (mod came from modhistory which is dead you'll have to use this site and maybe this hosted by abot)
It's not the most necessary mod in the world I suppose. I'd forgotten how hard it was track down. When using it the spell actually summons some kind of ancestor ghost to make it work, and thus the spells are not viable for enchanting. If you try to enchant an item with "bound armorer's hammer" it just summons an ancestor ghost instead. It's a shame there isnt a more accessible version on Nexus because in theory its a really cool idea and it makes sense that a wizard who can summon weapons and daedra would be able to summon a hammer.
I just tested this and I cannot recommend it. Definitely use V2 with the TR Patch instead. The approach to character creation in V1 and the Complete Version is noticably different and if you see that desk in the background while you're making your character its a sign you fucked up. Allow me to elaborate. For the sake of clarity I'm going to lump the complete version and V1 together and call my preferred version V2.

Both versions allow you to do some additional customization after the usual race class birthsign choices. V2 keeps this fairy simple, you can choose to edit your attributes which removes your specialization bonus but gives you points to work with instead. I never do this but the option is there. What I do utilize is the Skills Editor option. In V2 this provides you with 45 points you can use to add to your skills in increments of 5, 10, or 15. You can only edit a given skill once so you cannot dump all 45 into a single skill. I like this feature because it can help balance a character out and avoid some early game tedium, but it is of course optional. V1 on the other hand ruins both the attribute editor and the skill editor by causing them to reset all of your skills/attributes. For the skill editor V1 resets all skills to 5 and gives you 265 points to distribute freely. This is not only way more work than the V2 version, it also completely defeats the point of building a character and removes any sense of balance. Additionally V1 provides a lot of weird starting options like having a companion or not, being a vampire/werewolf, starting as a member of a faction, etc. Finally the starting location options don't seem to work right in V1. I tried starting out in Cyrodiil and it put me in some random foyada on Vvardenfell instead. Meanwhile the TR Patch for V2 works perfectly, I tested the option to start "Fishing at Dragonhead Point" and it even put a fishing rod in my inventory, very nice.

In short, V2 is more elegant, balanced, easy to use, and functional than V1.

When did you attempt this stuff? Bethesda had the people who made most of the mods... well... actually fix their stuff in recent-ish updates. Nothing you mentioned is logged on the UESP. I'm pretty sure your mod pack or one of your other mods is what fucked it up.

But yeah, a bunch of the CC content is not very well-polished, is implemented in a slightly-obnoxious manner, and/or operates on the same "logic" as the buggy base game. If there is an AE Patch in the vein of the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch that fixes the bugs, spelling errors, capitalization/grammar errors, and oversights, I haven't seen it yet. I have the Anniversary Edition for the Switch, which doesn't allow ANY modding (and I'm not sure if I can even shut any of this stuff off), and it seems fine.

Sigh yep, that happened to me too. I alt-tabbed for 20 minutes to let it download only for it to have stopped the download so I wasted 20 minutes.
Also interesting stuff thanks for the loredump.
Only thing I'm good at really, even then "good" is generous.

BIG NEWS

A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR ALL

Major Update for Tamriel Rebuilt released

AND

The first big release for Project Cyrodiil!

Don't forget to upgrade Tamriel Data to the newest version. There's also a compatibility update for Skyrim Home of the Nords out too but AFAIK it doesn't add any new content.
Once again, Bethesda fans have done the work of an entire game studio/company for pure love of the game. I can’t think of another developer that has that level of dedication.

Even if I connect a wireless controller to my phone that's still a compromise for a game that really needs a keyboard and mouse interface and I should know because I remember the experience of playing Morrowind on the original Xbox. It sucked.
I've been trying to find a mod for years that restores og Xbox controller functionality to morrowind. I'm talking the one button can do multiple things contextually sort of deal. I remember my time with the Xbox version fondly on the control front, and the openmw "controller support" is bogus and just forces the menu to use an analog stick as a mouse, which is really lazy.

If so you're lucky and you might just be better off letting it be a fond memory, trying to relive it could ruin it.

On another note I've been so busy rebuilding my character and exploring Cyrodiil that I hadn't taken any time to do some fishing until now and I was stunned by the changes to Ultimate Fishing. Somehow it got even better. Now there's information on the type and temperature of the water and a new action camera system that includes and underwater fish-cam when you've hooked a fish!

Once again not a dunk or a jab but genuine curiosity: do any of you who enjoy fishing in video games enjoy fishing in real life?

Why is OpenMW "for noobs", can MWSE just do a lot more?
MWSE is older and has a lot more mods as a result. OpenMW is playing catch up on the number of mods available for it and many of the best MWSE mods will likely never be ported over.

Also OpenMW is more user friendly. Anyone can get OpenMW to work where as MWSE takes some degree of modding knowledge or a guide to get running correctly depending on how many mods you want to shove into it. Most people playing MWSE use a mod organizer like MO2 or Vortex but there are some madlads out there who still modify MWSE by manually editing the game files.
