To be fair in Daggerfall Cyrodil was originally described to be how it is in oblivion. It was Kirkbride who decided to make it a jungle in Morrowind

I've seen that talked about a lot, didn't Tiber Septim or someone else CHIM the jungle away from history? This was talked about here a while ago but I forgot what was said.
Lmao, the guard looks like an aspie retard that cant make eye contact.okay finding another and listening further that's definitely not the same actor from Skyrim but here

Which OG Oblivion has.Lmao, the guard looks like an aspie retard that cant make eye contact.
Assume the eyes are tracking initially to the 3rd person camera but doesn't switch or recenter on the 1st person camera when entering dialog.
Part of this snippet is quoted by Heimskr in Skyrim. That is the explanation given by Michael Kirkbride in an out of game post
Yeah if you live in China or India or LA. At this point I'm genuinely considering working as a consultant to advise game developers on what "outside" looks like.shit is brown-ish because realism.
Yeah, at the end of the day if you made me choose which of the two games is overall more appealing to look at with zero work I would tentatively point to the remaster right now. That may change as I get further in, but the animation tweaks and better faces alone, as well as the punchier combat, are all big boosts in its favor.I definitely also prefer the vibrancy of the original, aesthetics-wise. But I guess if I was held at gunpoint to choose, I'd probably rather use a reshade to fix that then spent three days doing a complete graphical overhaul of the original, especially if there are notable areas that the remaster touches that mods do not -- I know in Skyrim at least there are a few things like that, where no matter what you do some things will just stay ugly because nobody makes good mods for them (horses and dragons come to mind).
This is a big issue too. I said fuck it and bought the PS5 version because no mod support anyway and there's frame dips, stutter, the usual.Just as I figured it's UE5 slop and runs like shit.
I don't know if it was referenced in Daggerfall but Cyrodiil was for sure described as a jungle starting with the release of Redguard in 1998.To be fair in Daggerfall Cyrodil was originally described to be how it is in oblivion. It was Kirkbride who decided to make it a jungle in Morrowind
Cyrodiil, Dragon Empire, Starry Heart of Nirn, and Seat of Sundered Kings... Indeed, if the history of the Nords is the history of humans on Tamriel, then Cyrodiil is the throne from which they will decide their destiny. It is the largest region of the continent, and most is endless jungle. Its center, the grassland of the Nibenay Valley, is enclosed by an equatorial rain forest and broken up by rivers. As one travels south along these rivers, the more subtropical it becomes, until finally the land gives way to the swamps of Argonia and the placid waters of the Topal Bay. The elevation rises gradually to the west and sharply to the north. Between its western coast and its central valley there are all manner of deciduous forest and mangroves, becoming sparser towards the ocean. The western coast is a wet-dry area, and from Rihad border to Anvil to the northernmost Valenwood villages forest fires are common in summer. There are a few major roads to the west, river paths to the north, and even a canopy tunnel to the Velothi Mountains, but most of Cyrodiil is a river-based society surrounded by jungle.
Blackwood is a jungle swamp anyhow. To be fair in Daggerfall Cyrodil was originally described to be how it is in oblivion. It was Kirkbride who decided to make it a jungle in Morrowind
They should just move spells to use the shouts action somehowI'm absolutely shocked that it looks fine and I'm actually considering buying it.
Ultimately I find Skyblivion more interesting because they're remaking a bunch of dungeons, improving the overworld and unfucking the level scaling which are two aspects that really needed help, plus it's got mod support and a better ui. On the other hand Skyblivion is stuck with Skyrim's hand-based spellcasting which is a downgrade from Oblivion.
TES Cats apparently come in various shapes and sizes, I recall seeing a chart about that.I understood that this is a low effort cash grab and AI upscaling was the most effort they wanted to put in but they really should have ported over the Skyrim character models I mean what the fuck is this shit? It looks absolutely horrible.

That's NOT my furry insert ok. It's totally what a real cat man would look like.I understood that this is a low effort cash grab and AI texture upscaling was the most effort they wanted to put in but they really should have ported over the Skyrim character models I mean what the fuck is this shit? To be fair, according to a cat who never ever lies in Morrowind, there are dragons, they're just very high up.Blackwood is a jungle swamp anyhow.
Making the heartland a jungle never made sense as you never get large land empires massing huge armies from civilizations in the jungle.
It's more of a loss that you lost the flavor of the imperial cult, the imperial city being more obviously built on top of the ruins of the ayleid empire, the wild elves, and the dragons roaming the province
I thought he only justified the change, but that the retcon to the generic fantasy setting we got was because it was easier on gpus of the time and lotr was popular anyway so why not? I thought Kirkbride had to fix it for them afterwards since he had been pushed out of writing due to the massive amounts of drugs he would take when writing Morrowind. To be fair in Daggerfall Cyrodil was originally described to be how it is in oblivion.
