It was slightly better than having to escort that one Argonian all the way from the middle of nowhere in Molag Mar to the Mission in Ebonheart.

Doesn't help that the AI will immediately attack hostiles and they love to put themselves between you and the enemy and occasionally shuffle around to more efficiently get accidently poked by you.

At least there was an option to just kill them and tell the slaver in Tel Aruhn or whatever it was they're dead.

I've been rereading the lessons of vivec again and been thinking that the elder scrolls is missing in universe commentaries on it from both the Imperial Cult and the Tribunal Temple.

this isn't directly related, but I remember reading somewhere that Almalexia wrote children's books or something like that. This reminded me of that. Isn't the thought really charming?

But, back on the original topic, yes, that's the one thing missing from the lore; commentaries or responses to other books. I'd love to read scholarly treatises sniping at one another across the centuries.

Given Hammerfell/High Rock is all but guaranteed I have to say I'm more interested in the inevitable Orsinium DLC.

It fits their whole game plan for DLC. Secluded area, focused on a daedric prince, can tie in to the main game a little bit. I always liked the poop elves. If it wasn't Emil writing I would even say a nation of outcasts has great storytelling potential.

Todd give me the outcast among outcasts! Give me something like a necromancer mage king of Orsinium.

I know that Bethesda's bench isn't exactly deep at this point, but I doubt he'll do more than the inevitable DB questline. He has such a disdain for the series he took a massive demotion from project lead for F3 to a designer for a questline for Skyrim.

And I doubt MS took kindly to his spergouts after the Starfield backlash. If I was in Phil Spencer's position I'd 'suggest' Emil take a lighter role.
 
Reading some background lore I will say the funniest joke in the elder scrolls is how all the dunmer consider the Imperials to be godless heathens when the Imperials have 1000s of cults, this will never not be funny to me.

the khajeet (technically, they are just another form of elf crossed into beastfolk) are a variety of adorable stoners
the altmer are autistic anti-natalists who can't comprehend being hyper-focused doesn't actually make them intelligent
