The Elder Scrolls

Probably never releasing (you never know!) but I really dig the High Rock concept art Tamriel Rebuilt have done. They based it on medieval and renaissance mythological artwork. Very cool. Their justification is that Bretons are obviously a medieval European culture so they dragged all the fantastical stuff from that time period, specifically fairy folklore. Like how the Empire's Mages Guild is in direct competition with High Rock's Court Wizards who depend on the patronage of Breton nobility to thrive or even have their own distinct polities. The central them is the aftermath of the Warp of the West by Numidium has devastated large extant of High Rock with literal "warped" areas full of undead, daedra and monsters nesting in Numidium's wake. Breton Court Wizards seem a lot more Occult than the Mages Guild more standardised practice in their aesthetics at least.

Wccftech: ZeniMax Discusses the Evolution of Elder Scrolls Online: Free DLC, New Battle Pass, and a Focus on Core Gameplay (archive)
ZeniMax Online Studios has now confirmed the next step in Elder Scrolls Online's transition to a seasonal model, with the first season set to debut on April 2, 2026. For example, all major gameplay content released from now on will be free, with the revenue model shifting to battle-pass mechanics through the new Tamriel Tomes, offering both free and paid progression tracks.
That's just the tip of the iceberg of what's been just announced; for the full lowdown, check out the dedicated article. Here, we'll focus on the roundtable press interview that Wccftech attended, where Game Director Nick Giacomini and Executive Producer Susan Kath answered many questions about the future of Elder Scrolls Online.

I've known at least 2 other men who turned 26/27 and it provoked similar reactions of dread. There must've been something about being closer to 30 than 20 that spooked the shit out of them. Don't know if it's a gen-Z thing or not, but it's almost reminiscent of a mid-life crisis, but it's especially fucked because it's starting at the quarter way point instead. There's too many factors involved to arrive at a concrete answer why, but I think for a lot of young men being exactly where they were at 18 or 22 at 26 is something that feels deeply concerning. A life-stagnation in an undesirable situation with no apparent way to escape - no upwards mobility or hope for the future.
Your late 20s are when you realize you're going to get old, just like all those old guys who have jobs and families and careers and eventually retire. If you are still living like a kid--I was because I was still in grad school--you get this feeling like, "Oh shit, when am I going to grow up? How am I going to grow up? What the heck even is my life?" It's especially bad when you run into a high school friend, and you're wearing an X-Men hoodie and talking about the latest thing going on with Xbox, and he's talking about his son starting preschool, getting his PE license, and starting a new job at Trane.

Well, there goes my first ever pure mage playthrough. I fell into the Alchemy trap again and the game isn't fun anymore. Even less than a fighter abusing Alchemy because spellcrafting magnitude is capped at 500, so you can't just obliterate someone with a single punch (weapons don't really work because they all instantly break on contact which makes MQ kind of hard to finish).
It did produce a funny meem, though.

I spent all day setting up a modded OpenMW playthrough

I love OpenMW, but setting up mods manually is AIDS, MO2 is way easier

Lol I didn't realize that he also bothered to make his avatar into a girl version. So funny how at first he was trying to get across that he's merely a theythem nonbinary but clearly HRT and programmer socks are in his immediate future. It only took like less than a week, too.

Also I don't watch Zaric that much but for how long has he been a chaser? He wears cat ears or some shit during his streams so I kinda assumed he's an AGP of some variety. Lmao
Ah what the fuck

Have any of you ever tried one of the skyrim nexus collections? I don't really feel like making a full modlist again.

Never actually played Skyrim, but i think my advice is good for any other game with extensive modlists

I recommend never downloading curated modlists (through wabbajack or some other means). Always build yours from scratch. The reason i say this is that updates can break shit easily and it will be harder for you to pinpoint what exactly broke

Not to mention that there are modders that deliberately update mods to break compatibility with other mods because they dislike the author (i've seen it happen in the New Vegas modding community). Morrowind has some pretty drama addicted petty twats too

Zaric was the one with the "most offensive skyrim playthrough" series from 10+ years ago wasnt he? I thought at the time he was going to fill it with actually offensive mods like i remember with Fallout 3 and Oblivion from the genesis of Youtube but it was just him with the very early versions of the various Lovers Lab rape mods and a fucked difficulty that meant he was getting raped every encounter. It was a really retarded premise that hinged on him mugging to his webcam while a sloppily censored rape was happening on screen

I can remember that video well. Kinda iconic for skyrim modding and pretty ballsy of him even for the time.

Speaking of Zaric, he's in full drag with a tranny shark right now. It's so fucking over.
you can sharpen a sword on these fucking jaws and dude thinks he can pass as a woman? le fuck?
also thumbnail being coomer shit isn't that surprising now that he is hinted as a tranny chaser.

Guys, he's only wearing a dress his wife made for him, a wig, and matching shoes to troll us!

Guys, he's only changing his gender and taking hormones to troll us! It's soooo funny!

Guys, he ACK'ed because it was all an epic troll!!!!!

In light of this some thumbnails start looking extra suspect
If this is actually happening it might be one of the funniest TES related events in years.

I'd recommend Wabbajack unlocked from rpghq
Nexus collections I believe are limited by what mods are available publicly but I could be wrong. I also think it allows you to download multiple mods and at premium speeds, which you'd have to pay for ordinarily. This is probably why Nexus snatched the original software's creator to make Nexus collections lmao.

Whilst I haven't used a Skyrim collection in a bit, I used it recently to download the Uranium Fever TTW Fallout New Vegas modlist, and it's working just fine, just had to setup TTW and apply the 4GB patch and it's done.

The Skyrim collections had an issue of doing 90% of what I wanted but having that 1 thing that made it a pain in the ass. And as someone who doesn't give a shit about graphical fidelity, when a list was 90% there but then bloated to 300GB+ install size because of 4k textures my plebian eyes can't even appreciate whilst also scaling up the system requirements and increasing loadtimes. Sometimes you can fiddle with a pre-made list if needed to make certain changes and adjustments if need be, and some lists just do the bare minimum with being customisation friendly as the intent.

Can't you play OpenMW through MO2? Did something change in v0.5?
There's that tool to export to MO2, but i think it's too much trouble to set up, and lots of complaints about errors too

It also seems to not recognize the .owmaddon and .owmscripts according to the author, so i imagine it would just makes it all even more confusing to me
