as opposed to the real history of when Godzilla showed up?
The real history is that the Socialist States of America heroically incinerated the Japanese Nazis civilians to make the world safe for PoC. Maybe he's onto something, I'd pay to see a movie where Godzilla is the good guy and the no-good Japs are asking for it. Godzilla can have a US flag painted on his side and stomp on slant-eyed buck-toothed yellow-skinned inscrutable pregnant women.

I finally got around to watching Pacific Rim. It was pretty nice overall. No substitute for Robot Jox, but what is. Also: lead actor's "American" accent is possibly the worst I've heard in a feature film. It's like Bronx NY + Australian with a jaw full of novocaine or something (he's English irl I think).

Anyway, I've heard the sequel is quite terrible. Should I: watch it? Read spoilers? Not even read spoilers because they will only anger me?
As a Gundam fan I fucking love Pacific rim 2, but I didn't like Pacific rim 1 that much to be honest. Too slow, I like my Mecha reaction time to be fast.

Rinko Kikuchi's character is killed off and replaced by John Boyega and a bunch of Chinamen. That's all I need to know that it's shit.
Didn't give enough of a shit about og characters to care. Clint Eastwoods clone son is a significant lead for most is the movie so that was pretty cool. Basically I liked the movie because there's more fast paced fights and the mech designs are cooler . Gypsy looks like a cross between a Gundam and Gypsy. I liked the other Mecha, especially the one that looks like HK 47. I basically went in with the mentality that it's a watchable transformers style Gundam action movie. I saw it in theater 3D and it was Worth the ticket price.

Speaking of Pacific Rim, after all the comparisons to Evangelion Anno gave his take

I agree there's no memorable depth. I'm not going to pretend there was that much pathos to it, but I got to see some popcorn Mecha ass kicking action. That was enough for me.

What about a CCP flag or ROC flag?

I wonder why a lot of the critics of Minus One call it "propaganda". Just look at this comment from a Letterboxd user in response to a glowing review of it.

The dude does realize there were just as many Japanese citizens who were against the war as there were for/deluded into fighting for Imperialist Japan? Right?
