The Godzilla Thread - Plus other giant monsters, no matter how popular or obscure

That Titan has very obvious allusions to Biolante which is cool. She's one of my favorites. Unfortunately as S1 went on I became less and less engaged with LoM and sort of lost interest. Kong Fatigue doesn't help my lack of enthusiasm for this season either. Really tired of trying to make the giant ape into Godzilla's equal. It's never gonna happen.
Kong was wrecking overgrown lizards before Godzoomer was even hatched. If this series has some kwality Kong kontent maybe I will try it again but the first couple of episodes made me not care much.

Just finished the first episode of the second season of Monarch. It was really pretty good, no unnecessary drama between the modern-day characters. The episode gets to the point pretty quickly and doesn't really waste any time setting up this season. Got to see Kong squash some people and an important secondary character gets killed although now that I think of it, I know where they're going to go with in regard to that plot point. No Godzilla yet and new titan just shows up at the end. Fingers crossed this season will be much better than the first.

Anna Sawai can't act for shit though.

The important thing is for them to devote an entire episode to the Lesbian character, and show flashbacks of her with her lover. It's also important to show that she was a Teacher at a School with a bunch of rainbow flags hanging on it. Also the episode should have no new monster action at all, that's what the audience really wants.

I heard people say she was good in Shogun but I never watched that. The entire premise of Monarch is funny to me when you compare it a show that did its whole plot alot better: Godzilla the Animated Series. Somehow a show spawned from a heavily panned Roland Emmerich movie managed to create cooler monster plots and character drama than a live-action Apple TV show with hundreds of millions dollars poured into it. And theres nearly a 30 year gap between the airdates of both to consider as well. Really Monarch should've been fully animated but then people also see animation as a "lesser medium" so they went the live-action route but hired a really boring, sterile main cast of actors. The past crew is the one people seem to enjoy and we all know it ends with one of them dying off in KSI and the other two being alive in the future.

If I had to do it all over again I just would've made Monarch set with the past crew, investigating small time monster occurrences and conspiracies, paper trails and legends that leads up to a final kaiju conflict with either Godzilla or Kong showing up to maybe save the day. I'm talking stuff that maybe honors the old Universal cast of monsters or maybe ancient parasites that bred out of control, that used to live on another hibernating kaiju. But just use the past crew.

Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1974) OST has some bangers
well really one banger slightly remixed several times

There is apparently Godzilla Minus One whiskey coming to the US soon. Im excited to try it.
wow you know the old nerd crowd really hit it big time for Japan if we're getting the overpriced Spaceballs The Booze

Wait how much does it cost? That's actually pretty cool.
Well, you're not much help are you? (Not that it matters: I already bought it. A trusted advisor irl was like, "yes you should obviously buy that", oh well)

Anyhoo, $45 USD + shipping

I'm a little skeptical that that thing can even hold popcorn without it immediately spilling out but hey I'll let y'all know how that goes

Lol if doesn't end up holding popcorn very well, I'm sure there's other stuff you can put in there.

i think shin godzilla is better than minus one after rewatching both. king of monsters is the better of the kong or american godzilla movies.

a biollante or a hedora vs godzilla jet jaguar set in the shin godzilla universe would be fun. couldn't really use monsters with lore like mothra or king cesaer or any of the space monsters.

Hahaha this season has sucked so hard. It's way, way worse than season 1. It's essentially devolved into a soap opera with lots of cheating, drama, and a distinct lack of Godzilla.
Remember this scene from the trailer?

Lol ya it's all of a 30 second dream sequence. I'm so glad I'm not spending any money 'cause this shit is goyslop. Big G deserves better.

I haven't watched it yet, but this is basically what I expected. Any Monster scene in the trailers will be basically that monsters entire sequence in whichever episode they are featured in.
