The ending of 1 is something I still remember from when I was a kid and should probably be a reference to Druckmann for how to write tragedy in video games. I don't think that's true. We've seen footage of the Abby Vs Ellie fight scene and there's no finger biting.

This fight is supposed to take place on a beach at the end game, not the Ellie/Dina face smashing I believe! Once that scene ends we have a time skip with Dina telling Ellie to not go after Manby. End fight starts with Ellie cutting down a crucified Abby, they fight, ellies 2 fingers get bitten and Abby starts to get drowned till Ellie thinks of Joel. She lets her go and tells her to GTFO with some kind of boat(supposedly the one on starting screen) before going home to see Long Nose ran out on her.

I do remember hearing that at the very end Ellie leaves Dina to hunt down Abby, but I assumed it was a cliffhanger for a potential Last of Us 3. Maybe this is some sort of epilogue like what Uncharted 4 did.

I'm gonna hold my breath until the game's actually out and we can actually confirm everything, but we're still seeing some absolutely insane shit from the game already.

I was just thinking about that. Neil had Bruce Straley as co director in the first game to keep him in check. Since Straley left (either on his own terms or extended leave), it gave Cuckmann all he needed to turn the game into his personal wank fantasy, uninhibited.

From my own point of view, I'm unsure why so many seem to be directing their hatred toward Abby. She is just the vehicle of Cuckman's destruction of the franchise. From a character standpoint, yes it seems unhinged that she is on such an anti-Joel crusade, but she is quite clearly a young girl in an already shitty post-apocalyptic situation, who lost the only family in her life because some twat had to rush back in and save some ditzy kid after he had sold her for scrap. You can't expect someone like that to make logical choices. That may in fact be the one solid, understandable plot point that Cuckman wrote in all of this shit.

I myself am absolutely delighted with this game, and it's pure schadenfreude. In the real world we have Cuckman with his unkempt rat nest hair calling himself a feminist despite his role in a far superior female writer being forced out, a man who thinks he's an original gift to storytelling because he added roid rage and lesbians to a generic revenge plot and pimped it out. And in the virtual world we have a game being released, during pride month no less, where THE major plot point is that a roided out cisgender white girl is on a bloody crusade that ends up killing the pseudodad of an interracial lesbian couple, and the pseudodaughter gets fucking dumped in the end by her lover and loses her child.

The levels of lol and salt that will flow once people see just how low Cuckman has taken this story will be for the record books.
Make no mistake, I have no respect for Cuckman, nor do I think this is in any way a good game. But by god it is going to provide so many laughs over the next couple weeks as I get to watch all these hyperdefensive fanboys online who have been shouting about how it'll still be GOTY after the leaks etc, get to see exactly how wrong they have been.
This is going to be the gaming equivalent of the 2016 election and I am here for it.

This reminds me a rant I have about the HZD's plot. Before humankind went extinct they had a reservoir of knowledge from the past to educate the next generations. The game ignores the ramifications of such a thing and instead focuses on joking that the single straight white male wants to have hardcore porn stored with it.
First of all, the question what to include in such a place is massive. Holy books, advanced theories, history.... there is so much and some of the things included could have a massive effect of future society (not to mention people who will want to censor it) and porn can be a legitimate part of it. Besides that there's is a problem the game sidesteps about the vast majority of technological and cultural achievements before humanity went extinct came from the west and very few asian countries. Basically there is a lot of philosophical debate the game avoids like the plague and instead jokes on the white cis male.
