Are we sure this isn't satire? There is no way they would include Jeff Geerling and Andreas Kling in Fashware.

real men use public FTPs for backupMost people never did.
I'd argue most "powerusers" know to have their shit set up in a way to just nuke the drive and reinstall, because trying to "fix" windows will take longer than the installation and setting all your shit up again. if you're even successful because microsoft is trying to turn windows into macos, and outright hostile to let you tinker too much under the hood where they aren't so far yet.Well, Windows power users solution to fix things depend on what kind of poweruser they are; the "run the troubleshooting wizard then reinstall" kind or the "launch softice (or whatever modern devilry you need for wintendo these days) and single step for days" kind. The latter type does just fine (in my personal experience, suddenly having actual source code was a welcome luxury).
besides the usual raid limitations (it should tell you about when you try) btrfs should be fine.I survived an upgrade transition without any problems, none of my shit goes naff because of obscure filesystem issues... but there's still something amiss here that makes me think there's way more hidden strings attached to Btrfs snapshots. I actually need to do more research here. Don't take my word at face value.
one method that always works is saving /home and /etc, save your packet selection, nuke and reinstall. some distros even have automated installation. So no then? Because the only applications preserved will be those installed under my home directory.
By far the best thing out of Slopmarchy getting funded is the pure, glistening geysers of clitty leakage springing up the world over. If they do end up taking a walk over to NixOS, then I can only imagine the absolute pants-shitting we'll see from its troon maintainers
I just don't understand how someone as mild-mannered as those two can ever be considered fascist.SOMEONE clearly hasn't spent enough time in leftist circles to witness leftist cannibalism unfold in real time. It's 100% sincere, and Geerling and Kling are the subjects of anathematising because they didn't toe the party line hard enough
Drew Devault's "Weird Little Guys of FOSS"? Rich coming from THE weird little guyI don't even like Omarchy because I dislike Arch variants on principle, and yet the outrage surrounding Omarchy is enough to make me think "based. 10/10, will install Omarchy to spite the histrionic troons."
EDIT: OH MY FUCKING GOD THEY HAVE LOUIS FUCKING ROSSMANN AS A PERSON TO AVOID. Yes, the vitriolic computer repair guy turned right-to-repair advocate is certainly someone to avoid... if you want vendor lock-in.

Timely opportunity to bring up that time a SUSE developer referred to purging people who dislike tranny and pride shit from the community as "cutting out the rotten flesh". I'm unfortunately not seeing DHH or anybody from Omarchy calling for Total Nigger and Total Homofag Death, making it a lot less political than at least one major Linux distro."It's a political movement disguised as a linux distro!!!" said an ultra political tranny injecting his own politics instead. He even asked to donate to antifa bail funds on the bottom of the page lol.
It's vibecoded lol. Everything from the copy to these little "buttons" here were generated with Claude or some other LLM. LLMs are horrible at generating UI and use the worst possible color palettes, same fonts, design patterns, etc.Nothing serious has ever been typed in red text on a black background.
I had no idea dude was this based. He's kind of a whiny little bitch on his channel sometimes, though.Cardinal sin: is anti-abortion and doesn't apologize for it
Not to mention he gave praise to Colorado State Representative Brianna Titone speaking about right-to-repair, who just so happens to be a trans woman. It is basically "Guy said something I don't like; therefore, he is evil". Didn't Rossman have an Asian girlfriend, so that makes him a libertarian, doesn't it?
I'm tempted to modify one of those automated ablation projects to create an LLM whose hyperfixation is Omarchy (like Golden Gate Claude), and just let it run creating endless VMs with Omarchy.I don't even like Omarchy because I dislike Arch variants on principle, and yet the outrage surrounding Omarchy is enough to make me think "based. 10/10, will install Omarchy to spite the histrionic troons."
Apple makes great hardware. They always have (minus that one time with the butterfly keyboard). And a lot of the people arriving at Omarchy are arriving from a Mac. Many of them would love to keep the machine and lose the operating system. So we’re going to finish what Asahi started: Omarchy running beautifully on Apple Silicon, with a minimum of setup fuss.
That work already has a team behind it. Today we’re making it official: Omarchy M, our team for Macs with Apple Silicon (plus a few members keeping older Macs in the fold).
Let’s finish what Asahi started.
Right, so they are basically quote mining them for wrong think.Drew Devault's "Weird Little Guys of FOSS"? Rich coming from THE weird little guy
Putting out a list like that where all the horrifying scary fascist things they to is "X got money from Y" and "Y gave money to X" or "doesn't care for trannies too much" or "said a slur". And the best one that's "we pulled up a 14 year old blog post and used it to force a collaborator to drop him AND HE DIDN'T APOLOGIZE TO US"
That list is hilarious

I’m not sure why they need over a dozen people for the Omarchy on Apple Silicon project, when Asahi Linux has already been ported to Arch Linux.
Have fun running asahi on any modern macbook. Even their latest "achievement" is having bare bones support for M3 macs.I’m not sure why they need over a dozen people for the Omarchy on Apple Silicon project, when Asahi Linux has already been ported to Arch Linux.
All because DHH doesn’t like Rapefugees in the UK. I’ll be sure to wipe my system and install this.
They want to expand beyond what currently Asahi is (somewhat incomplete lunix support on M1 and M2 Macs and 0 progress for A18 or M4 onward)I’m not sure why they need over a dozen people for the Omarchy on Apple Silicon project, when Asahi Linux has already been ported to Arch Linux.
