KDE Plasma is being forked to retain X11 support

Also has anyone had issues with their computer hanging on sleep, which seems to correlate to wether or not they had played a steam game since their last boot? Might be Nvidia exclusive idk.

Being on Linux since 2020 it's amazing how little changes with Mint in just the past five years,
Unironically why I picked it. Good God I'm tired of being raped by microsoft, but it's another level of beta cuck faggorty being raped and you don't even get to keep your harddrive intact because of pajeet decided to show off his "comeptence" to some retared HR hoe so he can extend his visa.

If Mint can stay like it is, only adding more software in the "software manager" thing (please add some retard version of WINE so I can use cracked Adobe stuff), I can finally be happy and my ass can finally rest and heal from my last decade of using Windows 10.

There should be a new version of Cinnamon that will be coming out on Linux Mint 22.3 some time this month or so, it has a slightly redesigned start menu

It finally happened. They put out the linus, and linus episode

"I am the beta linus today, so that's fine" - LTT

Hearing the real Linus talk about hardware is actually interesting. So far I'm liking the video outside of all the LTT awkwardness.

Edit. Ok, one thing really annoyed me. Ltt interupted linus when he was about to start talking about nvidia, and ai stuff, presumably with the kernel, and i guess the editor cut it too after. Wtf should have just let the man talk.
Fedorabros, we keep winning.

From the man himself.

he uses fedora, gnome, wayland, systemd. I am vindicated.

He basically has to because Fedora is one of the testbed distros that has all the technologies that the kernel has to integrate cleanly with. Fedora also ships with tons of developer tools and virtualisation shit that makes testing stuff easier. It also tracks the latest versions of the kernel and assorted dependencies.

“Author of and ruthless tyrant in control of the Linux kernel uses a distro that ships with all the latest stuff he works on. I feel vindicated!” No fucking shit. What’s next? “South African multimillionaire has an outsized impact on the Debian project?”

I've had all sorts of random, hard to reproduce issues with sleep up to and including freezing and I use Steam and/or Lutris most times I turn on my PC and am on AMD so I dunno man.

Developers of GNOME Flatpak store Bazaar reject non-faggotry-related themes for the installation progress bar:

try fully exiting Steam before putting your computer to sleep? Or add "SDL_VIDEO_ALLOW_SCREENSAVER=1" to it's launch options
This. Steam running means my screens don't ever turn off. That's as much "power management" as I care about, so it may do a lot more, but I know it does that.

To tell Steam to fully exit, exit using the Menu: Steam > Exit or whatever. When you click the X in the top right, the process does not fully terminate.

Generally don't have issues getting it to sleep (what keeps Linux awake sometimes is a mystery, but if it was consistently Steam it would never sleep at all because I keep Steam minimized when not in direct use), it's waking up that's a dice roll. Maybe once a month it will freeze on wake up after typing in my password. Or last time I had an issue Plasma KDE shit itself and wiped my widgets on my secondary monitor but that might be more a "Linux hates running more then one monitor" thing and not a "Linux hates having a consistently functioning Sleep function" thing.

Sort of limited on how much I want to hunt this problem down since I'm planning on distro hopping off Ubuntu entirely Soon™ so I'm hoping these issues don't follow me.

maybe try a non-systemd distro?
