It's not just for free. Technically the kernel isn't paying you. But if you aren't getting things in the kernel. Then what is the point of your file system? There is a reason the have as many people submitting patches as they do. It's because if people want proper support of their software with Linux that is the way they need to do it. There is a very obvious benefit people get from having patches accepted there. It's not the kernel telling people to slave away and write code. It's them choosing to merge the code they get sent.If the code is correct, why the FUCK would you not accept it? There is 0 detriment in taking code from someone you hate, in fact that's a win isn't it? You hate the guy, yet he works for you FOR FREE. It is so illogical I get a headache trying to steelman this and justify it. I'd take code from literally Satan as long as there's no weird shit in it.
Linux really doesn't need another file system. Or need a bunch of extra problems from another sperg developer. When there are plenty of sperg developers already, that are at least slightly more socially adept.
