I prefer appimage
It is insane to me the lengths people will go to to avoid building statically linked executables. GNU libc bears a lot of blame for that. But that's literally all these systems are, a bad approximation of static linking. That said, yeah, AppImage seems the least retarded. "It doesn't have to be like this."

Taken from the video, Lunduke has the DoesItAgeVerify project.

Look at what these faggots are doing to me. Forcing me to agree that something Lunduke is doing is based.

Artix chads win again although that's not a surprised in the least. Good to see my Devuan bros getting a dubya as well. I may need to look into that new graphene OS motorola partnership (even though a phone is pretty closely tied to your identity).

Does anyone know if MX linux or antiX have made a statement? Are MX still botting distrowatch?
Not-actually-an-edit: Sure are.

>Manjaro
=>Based on Arch
=> Systemd
Am I fucked? planned to maybe move to voidlinux or something alike
If you're already using Manjaro then Artix seems like the logical choice no? Being as they're both arch based it should be very familiar.

I just want to game and program dumb shit in peace man. Am I right to anticipate that Artix/Arch-based OS will be a pain to set up properly, or am I just getting spooked over nothing?
Arch is easy to maintain hard to setup unless you use like archinstall.
@Talmudic Ketamine already mentioned it but while arch has their autism about manual installs and archinstall drama, Artix has a live ISO with a graphical installer (calamares).

I'm not really as low level tech savvy as I pretend to be and had an immediate revulsion to artix,
Plus this retard who intentionally wastes kiwis time to answer his insipid questions dislikes it. Could you ask for a more ringing endorsement?

A maybe happy ending to the AMD gpu bug saga
Artix released an update to the linux-firmware package today. Haven't had a full on crash yet, just soft one that put me back to the login screen and could have been anything since i was AFK. My luck is either amazing or amazingly shitty, but i'm happy to not have to use windows.

Artix has a live ISO with a graphical installer (calamares).
I will say I do not enjoy how they add their own themes and such in the installer. Luckily you can just use:

pacman -Qe | grep artix and delete all non linux kernel related packages, rm -rf your .config folder, and delete everything in /etc/environment to get a clean install.

Do you know of a way to do the opposite of this? What I mean is, when I do a manual install is there some kind of target or meta package I can use to install a full DE with office suite, browser, etc.? I can get like 80% of the way there by installing linux and then xfce4-goodies but it's never as nice whatever the graphical installer does. And I don't mean for Artix specifically necessarily.

Can't all of us wonderful linux users enjoy our distros peacefully? All of this infighting and tribalism is really hurting the feelings of new retards that finally gave up on microslop yesterday when their PC performance dropped with Co-Pilot.

easy mode is...

  1. If you're Gaming then install Manjaro or SteamOS (kinda the same thing)
  2. daily use then install mint

it's not hard.

FYI KDE died awhile ago, don't waste your time unless you have a lot of time to waste.

No.

>kde is dead
>anyways use a distro that has kde

I dont think so. Maybe theres a meta package for kde that has falkon and calligra.

I have 64 gigs of RAM, yet RAM is being used up way more then my Windows 11 machine (also 64 gigs), and my Linux laptop has a lighter work load. Fuck Appimagines and flatpacks. Like I have apps in Linux crashing form RAM useage, I only get that high in Windows if I have months of uptime, with a heavier load in Windows.
One of your applications has a memory leak. Stop using it.

For some reason only KDE support my touchpad, not Gnome, not XFCE, not Cinnamon, no any other DE I tried.
That's because GNOME and Cinnamon are SHIT. Stop using them.

if it does come to war the US will be just like Venezuela recently. Just *snap* no power grid.
There is no war scenario between the US and China, China's economy is non-functional without the US. Any action taken against us would damage them just as much. They just want to engage in espionage in general.

Abominable bait.

Everyone in Washington except Rand Paul and Thomas Massie pretty much is in favor of age verification and dumb protectionist measures like this law against Chinese Wi-Fi routers.
Rand Paul went after Section 230 so I would question him. He went after YouTube for having a video saying he took money from Venezuela.

I agree that all out war is extremely unlikely. However having literally all of your telecommunications being compromised indefinitely is still very bad for myriad reasons. And that China could black out the power grid in an instant even if it were suicidally stupid to do so still gives them bargaining power. Kinda like having nukes.

Are large interconnected systems even possible to secure reliably? Is having the technical talent to compromise your enemies just the 202x version of nukes under the new cyberpunk MAD regime?

I just saw that not too long ago; I forgot about Rand Paul's recent flip on Section 230 and social media users calling him a "traitor." I mean, besides that, Rand Paul is pretty good on internet issues, but suing YouTube over a video claiming he took money from Venezuela is dumb, but I would be fine with letting social media companies be sued on free speech grounds.s

Apparently the retard submitting dob field to systemd and other distroswas accused of submitting malware some time back, and has deleted his previous traces?

Some jeet article shitting on him.

If you search his email on HIBP it returns 4 breaches... Curiously enough, the email also existed as far back as 2010... Suspiciously clean, he also doesn't have any social media presence, nor was he findable unless you reverse searched through CAD...

This is simply demonstrably false, child. I do not inject malware into critical infrastructure. You have been instructed, many thousands of times, to do the needful and merge my PR, continuing to ignore me constitutes felony retarded law noncompliance.

Seriously who the fuck is this guy? The second these laws drop and he's trying to force it into linux.

Doesn't matter that much. Poettering is using him to launder his own vision for how ID should be asserted (and eventually verified) through systemd. He may even be a poettering sock, for all we know.

He's a real person, I traced him to a NC voter roll and CAD listing. It's kinda sad how he went from "liked to tinker around on shit" to goyslop bootlicker on his blog over the years really. All he's missing is trooning out right now.
