The storm came in with a cold front. It only got up to 71 today. It's been in the 80's most days lately. I'd rather live somewhere that has to deal with tornadoes and hurricanes than snow.
I was hyperbolizing about how shitty it was for the power to be out and shitty cell service. I watched anime at my computer beside a window through most of the storm. I kept one headphone off so I could listen to the wind for the sounds of a tornado. After the power went out I finished that episode and shut down my computer before the ups battery died. I keep a flashlight in one of my desk drawers because this happens pretty often so I grabbed that and went to light a propane lantern. The bottle was empty so replaced it with a fresh one, lit it, and started the empty bottle refilling. I sat in the living room basking in the yellow glow of the lantern just drinking and thinking for a good while until it started getting hot. I waited a little longer but the power still didn't come back on and the weather was getting a little better so I went out and got a generator and some extension cords and hooked up a window unit ac and a tv. Damn ups doesn't like the generator power so I couldn't computer. That was the worst part out of all of it. I also hooked up my router but the internet was dead too. I turned on network tv and came to the farms to shitpost on my phone. I was trying to draw some ire by claiming my plight was worse than people possibly having died, but once again the farms has proven to be a much nicer place than most of the internet.
