10 days seems a long time to be stuck in a tin can full of farts, so respect to the space cowboys for going up there.

I have a legit question though that the BBC skips over. The mission is going around the moon, do they mean around this side of the moon like going around a coin placed flat on a table, or will they be going around the 'dark side' of the moon (while listening to Pink Floyd)?
If the latter, will they lose comms?

Yep they will be going to see the far side of the moon. And will experience comms blackout.
Will also be looking for ice and landing sites for future missions.

Thank you for the reply and the 10/10 visual.

While I don't believe we've ever been to the moon, I genuinely hope this is the start of some real space exploration, or scientific, reasonable reasons why we can't and what obstacles we face so that we, as a race, can over come them.
I just fear we will be bombarded with grifters making thousands of tiktoks over camera effects and space debris with spooky music in the background, claiming outlandish, braindead things, instead of some genuine thunk provoking ideas.

I hope the mission goes well, the people are safe and we learn some really cool things about space and the moon, which has been fascinating us for hundreds of thousands of years.

The two twin boys that were asked "who would you bring on a 10 day trip around the moon?" and both of them say "my dad, my mom, and my best friend", but not the other brother is gold.

Man I wish I could go out to the launch. There's a freeway in Cape Canaveral where you can sit and watch launches when it's clear. Went to one years ago at this point it's pretty interesting.

They have a 2 hour window that starts at 6:24 so they can't work on FTS during that time.

FFS they really think I give a flying fuck what some shitty ass "celebrities" think.
NASA really has a shit PR/media department. Really should just stick to rockets.

I'm watching the NASA Spaceflight Stream. They are proper space autists.
I have a tradition of watchin everyday Astronaught's streams for a long time. I think asmongold is going to sream this too and will have to check that if he does it too.
