After the recent Cloudflare outage, it made me think about how many websites rely on Cloudflare. Not only that, but Google has a monopoly on the web as well.
I've always been for decentralizing the web, and I get hard whenever software such as Beaker Browser exists.

As shit gets more complex and people are more likely to start DDoS fights it's going to be difficult to decentralize. People will flock to what they see as more secure while disregarding the very real possibility of them going dark for hours or days at a time, or even permanently, when they get too big to manage.

pic related is our current situation with Google/Cloudflare

Mean tweets, bullying, that's just their excuse for politically motivated censorship.
To add onto this, censorship now takes the form of a sort of post totalitarianism. If you fail to clap hard enough, some basement dwelling worm or some blogger journalist calls your employer and gets you fired. No gulag for you, just total economic alienation.

But you best be sure, this can never be censorship, for the state's boot isn't on your neck. It's just the boot of huge multinational corporations who get plenty of state subsidies and contracts, criminal organizations the state conveniently doesn't go after, and your company's HR department who were educated in this bizarre worldview in state subsidized and funded colleges. But it isn't the state!

So, similar to why ResetEra forces you to sign up with your workplace/school e-mail?

Exactly why. You cannot reasonably expect to live a decent life with opinions that were common in your country a mere 100 years ago (a unique historical occurrence) in public. They use this implicit threat to enforce the mainstream ideology, which they like and enjoy.

LOL 100 years ago? Try 11. In 2008 california voted to ban gay marriage. Hell, when did the trans shit go mainstream? That was all around bruce jenner, the man, who was always a man and still is a man. But now his reproductive system has been surgically altered. Anyway, before that it was ok to be like "Trans? Eww." Now you get unpersoned for that.

The constant changing of the rules is part of it I think. Lots of people want to do what they perceive as the authority tells them to do. So people are happy to claim they always held an opinion that was nowhere to be found 15 years ago. People LOVE being up to date on something and getting to correct people who aren't. OH sweetie we stopped saying 're-tard' 10 minutes ago, now you're megahitler if you say it. It was funny back then but now its evil.

Lothrop Stoddard was about 100 years ago. Henry Ford's excellent amazon review of the Jewish race was also in that time range too. Sort that type of stuff out it all falls into place.

It is crazy how society has progressed in such a short amount of time. About five years ago, I used to work with a guy who was a Bible literalist. Honestly thought the earth was 4,000 years old. Was a bit cooky, but otherwise an actual really nice dude. We would have long debates on how old the earth was, gay rights, marriage, etc.

I cannot fucking imagine how bad it must be for a dude like that now. Companies ten years ago might send an email out during pride month to let everyone know they mattered -- this past month my employer sent out daily emails, coordinated a parade with the local city, referenced trans rights into meetings, and did everything possible to let us know HOW INCLUSIVE WE ARE.

If I told a coworker I thought the "trans community" did more harm than good to people with gender dysphoria, I would be out the door before my shift ended. But if I tell a coworker about how I like to dress up in a minidress to get banged? yaaasssssss qweeeeennn slaaaayyyyy

So are you a fed, edgy newfag#5023404004234230 talking about da joos, or legit newfag#42130518243534 talking about da joos? Do you want to recruit me, or just have me read some materials? Or insult my mother?

I am but a humble antisemtie peddling my opinions. Like em or not.

You're overestimating somewhat. According to Dear Leader ~30% of the Internet uses Cloudflare. Still a pretty big number, though.
Every site controversial enough to make people mad enough to DDOS, or big enough to monetarily threaten with DDOS, uses some sort of DDOS protection, generally Cloudflare, out of neccessity.

Shouldn't be necessary. Is.

This would not happen in a world of societies run under natural law. In a real nation, if you acted as the principal agent for a company selling a router with a default 'admin/admin' login/password, that could be logged into remotely over telnet or ssh without a private key by default, you would be subject to very harsh punishments imposed by the local Gauleiter that would dissuade anyone else from doing the same.
