I forgot how censored and fucked modern day internet is.

Google is fucked, Bing is fucked
ecosia.org has a built-in proxy that lets you change what country you're searching from (you'll find that its fucking useless)
Yandex.com is probably the best search engine when it comes to piracy
Gibiru.com touches more obscure parts of the internet

Hey, thanks for the pointer, just ran MAS. I'm pretty behind the times and haven't had a word processor for years now, and could use some help. Is Office365 the only game in town? Or are there builds of Word out there that I could run with this? Sorry for being a lazy nigger.
LibreOffice works on windows and linux. IDK, I haven't used a word processor in a while

breh
if you want to play games to distract you from this suffer existence
gog-games.to / ovagames.com / cs.rin.ru / fitgirl-repacks.site (Make sure it's this exact url and not some copycat)
Also, lots of torrents for games are infected with bitlocker ransomware, so it's probably best not to run these on your work drive

steam is for cucks that want a real-time counter to see how much of their lives they've wasted. They also can change the TOS and lock you out of your account if you don't agree.

for linux, the closest thing to a windows experience i've come across is probably LMDE 6.
Linux Mint Debian Edition 6. Very stable, and unlike some other shit distros like poop-os, or ubuntu,
or manjaro, has never suddely just stopped working.

Windows users love getting advertised to so much that they will pay $200 for a pro key and use a terminal window for a local account just for the privilege.

When pic related manifests itself on their screen for no good reason and they see “Rapper Lil Bootyhoe thinks Donald Trump should be impeached” they coom a little despite it being the fourth time it happened that day.

“Just pirate it” is great advice to give to users who have never owned a desktop computer.
Pay? People still pay for windows? I've been pirating it since Win10 wtf

One is yet to find the reason for which Linuxfags willingly go into Windows related threads and shit their pants when people talk about Windows in a positive way.
Nigger your retarded post was linked in Community Happenings so don't be surprised when a Linux tourist walks in. Also the thread subtitle is Formerly THE OS for gamers and normies, now sadly ruined by Pajeets. It's not an explicitly pro-Windows echo chamber even if you want it to be.

I could bring up countless of examples when a featured thread post had to have a disclaimer that explicitly told people not to shit up the thread just because it's featured.

Also consider starting the "Slav Power Hate Thread" since you clearly seem to hold a grudge against me personally all things considered. No need to shit up the Windows OS thread to make it all about me.

Wayland is better than Windows DWM.
Isn't Wayland the piece of shit that can't tell you what a primary monitor is because it expects the compositor to do that which leads to multiple implementations which again leads to scenarios where it can't position windows correctly? ("Omg I just don't want my games going to my main monitor >:( who even does that I bet nobody!!!!!" -gnome tranny).

I wanna know how DWM (which IS the desktop compositor!) is worse than Wayland?

>ignores spirit of what I was saying

I was saying the technical implementation is more direct and stateless which is cleaner which is why I added that parentheses after giving a high level explanation of my reasoning "...(Both are far more efficient with less overhead.)"

And to address the compositor implementation side of things. Yes, I'll concede that the specification needs to be far more opinionated but that wasn't what I was mainly addressing in my original sperg

I wish the bald cokehead was still in charge :(
Same. The jeet CEO doesn't give a crap about Microsoft and their products, he only cares about hiring more Indians. Recently he added to the board the WEF plant who was the UK Prime Minister.

Still on an old, cracked 10 license a group of friends passed around years ago. Works just fine. I don't even notice the watermark anymore.
By cracked you mean you didn't use the activation script? The watermark goes away. I did this with the 10 IoT version.

eh, I'm installing windows 10 IoT on my main computer for a while. I'm fine with Mint, but I consider it healthy to commit to trying a different OS for a couple weeks or so once in a while so I don't end up being one those losers stuck on a ritualistic setup because I lost the ability to learn new software. Plus if I find it does some things better I'll switch pernamently until the next time I do a trial.
I mostly use Arch even for gaming. I have recently installed a Windows 10 IoT on a spare SSD for the few gaymes that require Secure Boot or those that don't run well on Linux.

Google is fucked
It's brain dead. The image search function has been lobotomized to death.

I was coming from Linux Mint with Cinnamon and so far I find it to be basically the same with the differences being not much more then if I had came from Windows 7, except now I can login using a pin and don't have to enter a password to update or install stuff.

Nice that Wallpaper Engine and Bongo Cat works now though

Poles aren't people and if I bashed Slav Power's head in with a rock it wouldn't damage my karma because he's lower than an animal in the eyes of Yama.

The vast majority of old Windows software Just Werks(tm) without any 3rd-party intervention to make it happen.
Pretty much everything made for 32 bit windows will still work, most old quake dev tools still work 20+ years later. 16 bit DOS shit won't but it didn't after xp anyways

WPS Office is 99.999% compatible with MS Office but tries to get you to pay for it a lot.

I understand that it was for security reasons, but I still cannot play my games (without a community patch or crack etc. I cannot wait until the kernel level anticheat game slop gets exploited more, like the Genshin(?) driver already.
The point is that it is not true that all, nearly all, or even most old Windows software needs community patches to work. Modern Windows has a massive amount of backward compatibility deliberately engineered into it, including lots of corner cases for very well-heeled business clients. No, it doesn't work with a handful of video games with a specific antipiracy package that MS deliberately blocked off. That marginal use case doesn't change the general point about backward compatibility.

Contrast this with Linux, where every major release (e.g. RHEL 8 -> RHEL 9) breaks all kinds of things.

My dad owned a legit upgrade copy of Windows 95, the one that worked installed from 13 floppy disks.

Other than that I've never even seen a real paid copy of Windows. I've pirated everything since, although I got 4 or 5 free student MSDN licenses of Windows 7 when that was still a thing which somehow have been working fine since then including activating Win 10/11. I also have a free Windows 2008 R2 license which I feel like I should use somehow. And of course a couple laptops along the way came with Windows preinstalled.

Eh. I cannot run games from my CDs (or the ISOs I have of them because who the fuck has an optical drive) from my childhood. If they install, I have to deal with old DRM like securom that does not work, they ripped the support out. If I pirate a GOG copy just to play it, it has a fanpatch to make it work. There is no inherent backwards compatibility in windows, it has been provided by the community for each game (hopefully). I have had luck slapping a few of these games into a wine instance and it "just werx" but I admit it is just as much a crapshoot.
Skill issue.

tbh i didnt know the right technical language sorry. just a key when installing that a group of friends passed around and used (speaking of is there any way to see what key i used in case i need it again?).

I don't think you can even permanently activate windows with a random key, not since Windows 7. Every version after that phones the Microsoft servers to submit a fingerprint of the computer, and if it doesn't match the one submitted before the activation gets invalidated and requires manual intervention

The reaction to @Slav Power post confirms you guys are bunch of niggercattle. I hope MS kills off Windows iot.
They'd gain less than nothing from doing that, I do have to wonder if they'll do anything at all if a non-significant amount of people switch to iot ltsc post W10 EOS though, I think most normies will just pay the tax and upgrade to 11 (or rather most of them have already, and the holdouts are strictly a minority) forgot about the current marketshare for windows 10 when I typed this, they definitely aren't a minority lol.

Not to mention that Microsoft is now a pajeet company and pajeets respect scammers more than people who follow the rules, so they will likely leave those using activator scripts alone.
