The Windows OS Thread - Formerly THE OS for gamers and normies, now sadly ruined by Pajeets

I got a bad schizo autistic concern that operating systems are being jeetified on purpose in case something massive happens and your comps can be rendered mute to keep communication from flowing.
But then again I am suspicious of anything and everything with a jeet or (((white jeet))) involved.
It's too bad work comps can't have that software that forces W10 to not receive updates. Would be useful. What retards are running IT departments allowing this mess to happen?
That, and much more. Computers are too powerful a tool to allow the masses to have. They limited your computing freedom first by selling you proprietary software. Then the free software movement came, and took that away from them. Then, they made the hardware nonfree and required proprietary drivers that couldn't run on free OS's. The free software community reverse engineered their nonfree crap and defeated them again. Then they started building entire computers with their own operating systems inside the CPU itself, that could not be bypassed or disabled. They put a backdoor literally onto the CPU die that you cannot bypass or disable, you can't even know what it does because it's baked into the silicon with such complexity that it would take enormous manpower to reverse engineer.
In the not so distant future, they'll again lock you out from installing "non-approved" operating systems, that aren't signed with their keys, the CPU will just reject them. Or you'll not be able to use the GPU or it will be limited and work shitty.
They also EEE'd the free software community in order to start putting their nonfree crap in it too, so you have nowhere to escape. Soon, there will be a Linux-based Microsoft OS released, and everyone will be brainwashed into loving it, because it's Linux which is supposed to be FOSS and stuff. But it'll run their proprietary kernel and userspace, and it'll all be closed source and backdoored exactly like Windows is now.

@monk I would give you a schizo emoji if there was one but there is only an autism emoji so that will have to do. Bill Gates who was a personal friend of Epstein who was the representative of the Davos "You will own nothing and be happy" class literally made billions off of putting personal PCs in people's homes. The pajeets at modern day Microsoft aren't malevolent but they are brutally incompetent and that is why every windows since 7 has been ugly and mostly functional(Win10) or broken but looks easier on the eyes(Win11) or ugly and broken(Windows 8.) The reason I swapped to troonix is that its just more functional for the old games that I like to play and updates on something like Garuda just won't break the system if you use RANI. It literally gives a better windows experience than modern day windows and comes with Wine and bottles out of the box. If you are fine with spergy gamer aesthetics the Dragonized version works but they have other versions without it if you don't want that. Linux nerds focus too much on the technical aspects and rarely if ever on aesthetic and functional aspects which is why SteamOS or Bazzite will appeal to normies because both work without hassle and won't break like even base fedora will as Bazzite is a fork of Fedora, Fedora is one of the just works distros that is objectively more normie friendly than Ubuntu(which is why Linus Torvalds himself uses Fedora as he stated he only cares about Kernel development and wants everything else to just work) and even then an update from discover broke my system for no reason and snapshots would not restore it.

Microjeet already has a Linux distro. One of the first things you see on Canonical's website is Microsoft azure too so its already happened, the fact other things like Fedora and Arch exist or even ubuntu derivatives like Mint show that Linux will be fine and there is still a lot of agency within it. Canonical aka Microjeet Jr. tried to stop fucking Linus Torvalds himself from updating the Kernel in Ubuntu so he just swapped to Fedora. Jewgle is trying to lock down sideloading on Android too so you can just easily switch to GrapheneOS which I plan to do very soon after I back up all the files on my phone.

It's just what happens when you're forced to design for the lowest common denominator (jeets, niggers, old people)

If God himself does not cleanse our lands of the Hindu, then may it be the men who are faithful in Christ to take up that cross and with the sword of Crusade cleanse North America of the Infidel. I am THIS MAD about the forcible changes to my operating system that won't let me share my map game autism without reading a user manual, after two decades of not needing too.
Don't vorry Sir, I am the licensed Microsoft technishen. Sir, have you tried turning it on and off again?
GOOD MORNING SIRS.gif

But them being shittier and shittier is actually making people move away from Windows into countless Linux distros, and if your goal is to take control over people's computers (whether to block communication or to surveil) it's probably easier if 99% had one amazing product that's owned by a megacorporation. It seems very counter-efficient to me. Don't get me wrong though, both things seem to be happening with recent moves with user age "verification" in linux. It's more that windows seem to prioritize built-in data collection and deprioritize quality, which they can do thanks to cheap code generation (and possibly preferential hiring).

I get so much random freezing in Win 11, like the whole environment just not responding for a few seconds because some applications are having a shitfit. This never happened in Win 10.

W11 is just shit like that. I thought getting constant blue screens was an issue with my hardware until I switched back to 10. Clearly they only designed the OS for very specific hardware if this is the kind of bullshit the average system will deal with when switching. I blame WebView for everything.

My PC used to blue screen a fair amount too. But it's stopped recently even on 11. IDK if they are really making it better.

It's gotten really bad lately. Like it's legitimately unusable. I have a 7950X and 64GB of RAM and Windows literally cannot stop chugging when I move between applications.

React and using JavaScript
It's definitely a WinUI app - when I attach the Visual Studio debugger to the start menu process I can see the WinUI controls it's made up of.

It seems the 'Recommended' section in the old Win11 start menu was written using React Native, which wraps around WinUI: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44124688

Claude tells me React Native apps on Windows load Microsoft.ReactNative.dll and hermes.dll. The new Win 11 start menu doesn't show me them loaded in the start menu process.

So no JS and React via Electron or Webview. There was some JS code using React Native, but that appears to have been ditched with the new start menu.

Could be anything. I haven't seen a BSOD in ages across several different Windows installations on very different hardware. Unless Microslop fuck up an update, which is where many people around the globe will start seeing a particular BSOD, it is mostly caused not by Windows itself but some specific driver or other configuration item.

sacrilidge
it's sacrilege, you nigger.
still, based and amen, fuck jeets.
i have no idea how can someone even possible conceptualize the windows 11 UI as something useful, holy shit even my family is mad at me because they are the ones used to this mess, i hope i can find a way to make it more windows 10 ish.

did you check for reserved system memory? both windows 11 and 10 are doing this retarded shit of reserving the total memory and not clearing up the amount reserved for some reason, i had to reseat my RAM sticks in order to fix the retarded 16GB of preallocated memory my windows 10 was doing.

as you can see now it's 72,0MB instead of 16.6GB.

It's usually the BIOS that does this, not the OS. On my Proxmox thin client, only 14.96 out of 16 GiB are available to the OS/user. I don't think it's the Linux kernel doing that.

For very narrow use cases, I make use of Windows 11, and I really hate the new-new-Task Manager. You can go back to the new-Task Manager from Windows 10, but it's still a bloated ugly piece of garbage compared to the Windows 7 Task Manager. In Win7/XP, I hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, I tap tap tap the arrow keys to the process and I kill it dead with Delete and Enter. It is very fast and very reliable, and it hasn't been idiot-proofed. Who is opening the Task Manager that refers to a process as an "App"?

Are there any replacements that aren't totally overkill? I looked into Process Manager and it reads overengineered to me. All I want is a simple list of processes that I can quickly kill on occasion.
