The Wonder Years

We were kang's Wonder Years:

See this is where I get annoyed.

Why don't they just make a new show? Why do they have to slap Wonder Years on it? There is no reason to call this The Wonder Years when it just be its own standalone thing with this same cast and premise.

But no, they have to race flip it and use a name people remember to try and trick them into watching it.

Also, if there is any show that should never be rebooted, its The Wonder Years. The driving force of the original show was nostalgia. It was nostalgic for the people that grew up during that time period. The show was already a nostalgia trip, so now they are nostalgia baiting with the nostalgia show?

Indeed and add to the list Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, That '70s show who shouldn't be rebooted.

I watched this all the time as a kid. Classic show that still holds up. Can do without the woke crap reboot.

I'm not saying that it makes this any better, but Fred Savage is apparently heavily involved with this shit...

It might be worth to bump this thread because Fred Savage was cancelled by Disney.

One commenter on that vlog dropped that one who gived me some chuckles.

I'm withholding judgement on Fred Savage. "Inappropriate behavior" is so wide, you can move a 747 sideways through it. He may have said, "I like Trump" and that would be "inappropriate behavior". Whatever he did, it couldn't have been criminal behavior as there's no talk of bringing in law enforcement. So if it wasn't criminal, I doubt it was that bad.

Poor OP who just wanted to make a thread on a show they like and then get reminded that a far inferior woke black remake of their favorite childhood show has been made. And now @Frank Rizzo has to be reminded again of their childhood being tarred and feathered in CURRENT YEAR media's piranha tank feeding frenzy. How will the OP cope with these series of revelations?

I don't think anyone can truly fire an executive producer. They can kick Fred Savage off the show, but they're still going to have to keep paying him.

I ended up watching the Wonder Years just because it was on before cartoons when I was a kid.
Only one portion still sticks in my mind, when Punky Brewster guest starred. And I already had a crush on her watching her as a kid years earlier.

How about an unnecessary sequel series about Red Forman in the '90s?

"A spinoff of the hit Fox sitcom That ’70s Show has been ordered for Netflix, Variety reports."

Remember Blockbuster and the Macarena?!

What would you dooooooooooooooooo if I sang outta tune...

A Wonder Years reboot should be set in the early 2000s, 20 years prior, like the original show was, what's the point of rebooting it but using the same time period?
So they can bitch about race issues.
