if i were to write a crossover fic, would it be autistically cancerous
Not inherently, no. It's all about execution and how you go about weaving together the source material that you intend to work with.

What's the source material that you had in mind? Do you already have an initial premise for it?

That other guy was wrong; this is definitely autistic as fuck. But half of learning how to write is just getting over your self-consciousness so it pays to write the most gay cringe autistic bullshit you can think of at least a couple of times and post it publicly.

Question to ask here; I've got something of a horror plot I'm working on, but there's some story details that I'm having trouble with, anyone have a decent AI program to use to get ideas? I was told to use ChatGPT by an author on my end, but I've read on here it's not good for horror and tends to be more of a people-pleaser; problem is, it's the only free one that I know of. Anyone got suggestions?

I believe that the next great work of literature will be in greentext. Have I just written it? That's for others to say.

"A Loose Metaphor for Rock Bottom"

While hiking out to a rock climb I nearly tripped and fell
There hidden in the weeds I found an old abandoned well

I nearly passed it by but then I heard a sad voice shout:
"If someone's out there help me please; I'm stuck and can't get out!"

"I fell down here a day ago, I don't know what to do!
I thought no one would ever come, and that my life was through."

"My world down here is lonely and there's very little light
I didn't know what else to do but pray throughout the night."

In any other circumstance it might have been too late
The sad man would have reckoned with a very different fate

But luckily for him that day I had with me a rope,
(The moral of my story is to never give up hope!)

Gemini is cheap and really good at brainstorming novel plots. I recommend that. Even the one that's 4.99 a month is great at helping you create and deepen story plots. If you don't get a membership, it still works for free. But you get longer chats if you subscribe.\

Google AI mode is also good at helping you prepare stories and plots, if you feed it enough backstory and docs of your idea.

I'll keep those in mind; currently getting some ideas and character bits that I'm nailing down, I'll take a look once I get all this sorted.

Bouncing some minor plot points off of AI is tolerable, but if you're using AI to come up with your premise or to write whole characters/plot arcs then you shouldn't be writing. There's something about having AI write your shit for you that is creatively soulless and an affront to God.

I'd say bouncing ideas off it is already cucked because you're really just bouncing them off whatever censored bullshit its street shitter/tranny programmers set its parameters to. I know there are ways around that but if you're willing to put that much effort into getting glorified prompts from a chatbot you're just putting extra effort into being creatively bankrupt. The only acceptable uses are if you're too cheap to pay some gaynigger "artist"/"graphic designer" to make a cover for your self-published books or if your story has an AI in it and you want authentic AIslop dialogue for the AI "character".

AI covers are a huge turnoff for me personally but I know some people don't mind.

"I'm writing a story where such and such twist happens, has this appeared in other novels in this genre? If so, list them."

"Find me blueprints for X building from before 2009."

Other than stuff like that I genuinely loathe the use of AI for any creative endeavor.

AI covers aren't ideal, I guess, but it's the difference between getting something free and having to pay some fag a couple hundred bucks for something that might not turn out the way you want it to anyway and waiting days to weeks as opposed to doing it yourself through AI prompts in maybe like 15-20 minutes at most. If you're self-publishing into the sea of slop on Amazon or whatever anyway it's an option.

As for fact checking type things, I still wouldn't completely trust it for that because AI has been known to hallucinate/completely make a bunch of fake bullshit up, so if you're the kind of author who has a stick up your ass about getting things heccin' factually accurate don't be lazy and do your own research (or at least double check what it tells you with a non-AI source) because you'll look retarded if that's something you care about and the LLM was on digital meth that day.

Reedsy is a great site that helps you figure out world building, characters and stories, but that also requires a subscription.

You're never going to grow if you're constantly relying on outside assistance for your work. Ideas that aren't your own, the trap of formulas, and having archetypes in mind when making characters. That's not saying to completely disregard established successes. It's the difference between copying and being inspired by, monotone or structured, bland or engaging. Approaching creation from a variety of others' works or thoughts more than your own is where issues arrive.

AI is great because it'll give you basic bitch shit suggestions that put you into an autistic rage that requires you to explain why it's shit and wrong for your story therefore prompting you into finding the answer yourself.

Controversial statement incoming:

Claude is one of the ones that isn't as bad when it comes to suggestions.

AI covers or "AI assistance" immediately make me drop a book. Using AI for anything but as a search engine a la "I need info about <TOPIC>, please recommend me some relevant writing" dilutes the craft. Nevermind the privacy issues with using public models.

Can't disagree with any of this; as I said, I'm only looking for a small bit of assistance on getting something lined out. Definitely not going to be using this to "write my story for me" - I've... actually got damn near the entire plot lined out, actually - just got a detail or two stuck in my head, wanted to see if it could go anywhere.
