I originally signed up with my first account back during the CWCki Forums days to look for a personal lolcow from Tumblr, because at the time non-Chris threads were hidden behind registration. I found this place from the CWCki after a snark blog on Tumblr compared said personal cow to Chris.

I left at a certain point for stupid reasons, but then came back after the Brenton Tarrant stuff went down, because I remembered that this place is the only place where I can talk about stuff like that in the way that I want to talk about it.

I guess mainly I just like the old-school Internet feel and that you can shit-talk anyone and anything without having people jump on you for being what they personally consider problematic.

That's difficult. For one, the levels are different for single people, DINKs, smaller families, and larger families, and it also depends heavily on where you live and what your lifestyle is. Plus Covid-inflation has skewed everything upward.

Just throwing numbers out for an individual.
Low income: Less than $50,000
Middle income: $50,000 to $350,000
High income: Above $350,000

I think middle income can be comfy and certain levels of lower income can be functional, as long as you keep your lifestyle in check. Once you start adding a spouse and kids, it becomes a lot more complicated.

Idk what society thinks. There's so much fake shit, especially with social media, where people are concerned with presenting themselves as better off than they are while making stupid financial decisions to keep up the image, that it's hard to gauge.
