Have you ever seen something done in a movie, TV show or even video game that you did (or tried to do) in real life?
for example, when I was a kid I saw the Simpsons episode "Bart Sells His Soul" and got inspired to make my own soul (a piece of paper with "my soul" on it)

yes, it was a dumb idea but I was just a kid back then

Way back in the 80s the TMNT comics has these special comics which were one-offs of the four characters showing various moves for their weapon styles.
I owned a real pair of sais back in the day, metal sais.
Now I'm a glass cannon.

Tried to hadoken during a fight but lost when they threw a skateboard at my head.

My situation was kind of similar

As a kid/teen I tried to do the same shit the people in DragonballZ to "concentrate my kii" and see if i could form an energy ball in my hand. It was after i saw the episode where adult gohan was teaching Videl how to do it.

I tried to shotgun a beer, as I had seen done in some movie while a junior in high school. What I didn't realize my awful gag reflex made that a terrible idea, and the sudden increase in volume slamming in to the back of my throat made me start to projectile vomit my Miller High Life and that night's pizza all over the small crowd of friends and slutty party girls that had just seconds before been cheering me on.

Had it not been for another guy at the same party throwing up and shitting himself later in full view of everyone, I probably would have gotten a nickname out of it

The Crane kick from Karate Kid during a fight in my early teens. Got put on my ass so fast, absolutely deserved it.
I have a feeling this is super common for kids born from the mid 70s to mid 80s. I saw it happen two separate times in two separate towns as a kid where some nerdy kid tried to crane kick some burn out that proceeded to beat the living shit out of the Ralph Machio impersonator

I don’t remember what the reasoning behind this was, but I was convinced I could fly if I jumped off my playhouse as a kid (I was like...4 or 5). But the trick was I had my parents’ long winter socks on my hands. I was convinced these socks were the key to catching airtime...

I think I connected the fact that they were too big and hung off my arms with them being “wings”. Regardless, I tried for like an hour and obviously it didn’t work as planned.

Re-enacted the "no, but I can show you" diary scene from Harry Potter 2.

Also pretended to be totally in on a joke with my friend in school about how we had our own Hogwarts portals in our backyard. Not gonna lie, it was really fun. This must've been why early religion was a thing. "Oh yeah? I totally heard Hercules killed a huge-ass boar too".
