My dad got me an electronics learning kit for my birthday and I used it to take apart other toys and mess with them, leading to fewer and fewer electronic toys being bought for me over time as I would get bored of using them after a week or so and then take them apart to really play with them.

Actual floppy disks. Not the hard plastic ones, the big ones that were actually floppy. My family also had a VCR with a wired remote.

I remember going to Sears with my mom in 1995 and seeing a Virtual Boy back in the video game department. I say video game department because that's all they had there. I was probably one of the few people to actually see a Virtual Boy back then.

Technically I'm an echo Boomer, but I fondly remember the shitty NT 4 machine I could use to run Doom, given to me by my uncle, and my parents had no idea and probably didn't want 6 year old me playing that kind of game.
