Dovydas Macys is a Lithuanian youtuber who has been making Runescape content under the name A Friend for over a decade. He played Runescape for a minimum of 16 hours per day throughout this time. He rose to fame doing "loot from 10 hours of" videos, which earned him a trip to Jagex to win the coveted Golden Gnome award. His account was also made a player moderator, aka a janny who does it for free. His salary when he had about 100k subscribers was $3000 a month, which he says is more than Lithuanian doctors make.
His first episode of notoriety was when he dodged the draft by moving to Latvia so he could keep playing Runescape.
Shortly afterwards, his degeneracy was revealed when torrent of a Japanese jailbait porn movie was shown in one of his videos.
A symbolic moment in his downfall was when he lost his player moderator status after doing a video on how much someone made by phishing other people's accounts.
A few years later, he made a video promoting Stake.com, the website that got Twitch in trouble for gambling. At the time, it encouraged real world trading on OSRS, which was openly against the rules. Jagex would respond to this by banning every account he had ever made. They however allowed him to make new accounts, and he has continued making content to this day. His absolute lowest point, and why I'm surprised that he didn't have a thread made on him at this time, was when he moved to the Netherlands to date one of his fans, an ogress named Zohra.
This was the first woman Dovydas had ever dated. In a few months, Dovydas announced she was pregnant.
A few days after this joyous announcement, Dovydas went on Twitch for a very rare livestream. He had previously only streamed once or twice. A few minutes after the stream started, Zohra would join and things would start going south.
Both of them would quickly start to air out each other's dirty laundry. Dovydas said that Zohra had been jacking guys off behind his back and sending nudes while they were dating. Zohra told Dovydas to block every female on every social media he had an account on and said that he could never send packages to their house. They got in a fight and broke up for a day, during which Dovydas went to the red light district in the Netherlands and slept with three hookers. Eventually the police were called and Dovydas was told to stop talking about her. He moved back to Lithuania soon afterwards. People wondered if this whole thing was a publicity stunt, since it brought his stream from about 500 viewers to over 10000.
