The Intellectual Dark Web was trash from the start. I remember trying to interact with them at one point and they just wanted to do the whole academic thing of discussing abstract high level topics from approved sources while making sure to block anything on the fringe that was interesting.
It also didn't help that they were largely made out of disaffected Center Leftists that sort of left the Left, but not really and thus shunned overtly Right wing outlets like Prager U and the Hoover Institution. Also, taking in Sam Harris was bringing a wolf into their herd because holy shit is he a shill for MSM. Evidence of how gatekeeping is necessary and had the other members did their due diligence in his neo-conservatism, they might not have fallen apart.
Reasonable theory, but the article was publish when Jack was already going rather hard right as a gimmick and he responded to comments calling people SJWs and feminists as an insult. The article also tried to make it sound like it was great because he was the one pushing the idea, it was his choice, and it only worked as he was an apex dominant male while the guy she was banging was a young guy that posed no competition to his dominance. He may have changed even after that, but the whole thing happened after his big shift to being a real man and when confronted about it he bitched out.
They also just really want to be seen as intellectuals, and push really hard to make that their identity. The part that really got me was that their social media groups outwardly banned any mention of things like Project Veritas as it was seen as too much drama. If they want to discuss ideas outside of the mainstream that might be controversial they shouldn't prohibit people from talking about them. The whole thing just ended up being a circle jerk talking about the handful of personalities they followed like JBP, Rogan, and so on, they should have just called it a fan club for that group of podcast hosts.

I remember hearing him mention it a lot, thought it would be fun to look up how he compared to others who shilled on Tim's show. The only one I've read is the Michael Malice one, which is rather good but just a collection of essays from other author's. I haven't read Andrew Branca's book, but he does give it away for free outside of Amazon which probably lowers his metrics.
They also had the CRT books yo show everyone that these books are no different than the turner diaries
