On top of that saying "look, the point is" and rambling about something vaguely related or something he has said countless times (skate park, being biracial, Andy Ngo, some other talking point he won't let go) just bores the audience.

I will give him credit, every once in a while he finds something interesting. But then he sucks it out with aimless ranting that is the verbal equivalent of a Family Circus comic. If he had an outline of things to hit instead of off the cuff repetitive speeches, he could be more interesting but he just comes off as a less exceptional Mundane Matt. Just reading articles with no real interesting viewpoint or deep thought on it.

Thomas Jefferson bought his Koran when he was a law student. The Ottoman Empire was still a world power that required study of it's legal texts. If you were a lawyer back then, you'd probably want to study the Koran just as much as you would study the Code of Hammurabi or the Magna Carta.
