Tim Pool - 'journalist' who claims to be a sensible centrist & sucks Sargon of Akkad's wiener; Afraid of the Milkshake ANTIFAs

SHUTUP AND TAKE THE PILL TIM! ITS GOOD FOR YOU! DONT MAKE US FORCE FEED YOU AMBERLYNN STYLE! ILL PUT SOME GRAVY TO MAKE IT GO DOWN! YUMMY YUMMY!

I don’t know what his actual politics are because I’m convinced his fence-sitting is just an act to boost his credibility.

His titles and thumbnails are straight clickbait aimed at right-leaning politically active people; he’s built a brand on some real quality journalism but his model for years now has just been to generate views. Sometimes there’s a flash of actual emotion that shows him as a frustrated centrist, but a lot of time it just feels like he’s intentionally framing the issues to suit his audience.

I appreciate his vids every once in a while but he’s not doing anything terribly unique and mostly just signal boosts.

Tim claims he's a BernieBro and would support Uncle BernBern again. He understands that the fringe left makes great commenting content and brings on the clicks from his audience. His daily news is really like MundaneMatt's style (find something interesting, read, comment) but more energetic and interesting. He hasn't done any investigative journalism in ages, even his subverse page is dead: https://www.youtube.com/subversevideos

Tim is a business man, must be doing something right as he's got staff now (so he says), building a studio, and plans on making more investigative content. In order to do that he has to keep his gravy train rolling and pay the bills. I don't feel he's fence sitting, he knows who/what his viewers are and how to keep them coming back for more.

Let me get the thing that makes his videos unwatchable for me out of the way first. His annoying lip smacking every time he starts to talk. I don't know how more people don't notice it or bring it up.

I agree that he has done some quality journalism. Although in the era of clickbait the bar for what constitutes quality journalism is quite low. He is a solid beat reporter covering the culture wars. But that underlying meat and potatoes footwork to generate stories is sullied with the pandering for views/clicks as you say.

In addition to the the pandering for views is he really doesn't appear to be that bright. Time and time again I've seen him cover a story and after the basic facts are delineated he wanders off into "but other than that how was the play Mrs. Lincoln" levels of missing the wider culture war issues at play.

Although I agree with the pandering to a right-leaning crowd, it is very difficult for anyone to create any type of discussion of the war between the lunatic left and the normal working class left. Any public forum is almost immediately flooded with Teh Donald type posters who are gleeful that someone from the left is dunking on the left. And once your content or forum gets mentioned in one of the right wing sites like breitbart you are effectively firewalled by the legacy media and almost all left leaning sites.

That is the nature of the lefts cancel culture/ideological echo chamber that is out of his control. I don't think there is anything he can do about it.

He has a niche with his catering to mostly right leaning audience but I don't see how he will ever be able to grow beyond the decent views/clicks he has now.

Of course.
This guy is making big money this way.
I've just watched one of his videos and 90% of the comment section are just people shitting on the left wing, non-whites, immigrants and all that.
I'm willing to bet that Tim is disgusted by his audience but he's getting views and money from them so whatever, honesty and integrity are for losers.

Yeah, but Tim Pool is not a communist, he is a liberal who supports some social policies (or so he says), that's not the same thing.
Mr. Obvious is kind of rêtarded, tbh. I've never really cared for his whole shtick. For some reason I get the impression that if one were to dig deep enough into his online history they might find things that warrant a thread about him.

I would argue that Tim is to the right what many anti-Trumper neo-cons are to the left.

Maybe if he keeps making videos about Tim it'll turn into a slap fight or uncover reasons to give him a thread. This is 2 in 2 months.

Mr Obvious just posted another video about Tim
>Taking the Political Compass Test Seriously

When will people learn its just the Frankfurt school's F-Scale test with economic questions thrown in. The thing is horribly dated, with dated ideas. So for example, the question about if you believe in Astrology will add to you being more authoritarian, because the belief at the time was Fascists were more prone to supernatural beliefs than non-Fascist. Yes, your hippy crystal aunt is vibing with Hitler.

This dumbass admits the test is bullshit while calling Tim a communist based on his results. Unless he is just using Tim as an example as how stupid the whole test is, Mr. Obvious is obviously exceptional.

'Baste and redbilled' individuals think anyone who's the slightest of liberal is a tankie fuck, while anyone who's pro-free speech is on their side.

You can be a working class liberal for free speech, and I hate this notion that people who think hate speech laws would be near impossible to implement well are somehow far-right assholes. Hate speech is so subjective, that the best we can do is try to determine if someone's planning to commit violence against a specific group, and take action from there.

Honestly, Tim can be sorta dumb at times, but I appreciate how he's separating himself from the futher left-wing people (even if they won't accept him as left-wing).

Nah I think the far right AND the far left (at least in America) think liberals are what they are which are just centrists who keep saying everyone who cares too much sucks. Intellectual Dark Web is 100% what Liberalism is at its core: a bunch of people saying extremes are bad, deep political enemies have just been fooled by emotion, everything is fluid, and the biggest names are Jewish cornballs trying to anesthetize traditionalism. Liberalism in the West - and all the tolerance and open mindedness - is some gay nerd yelling "everyone please stop fighting!"

It's almost unbelievable how much Tim /pol/ now sounds like your average Green Party politician except that he thinks the whole of Sweden is a war zone and in a worse state than Chicago.

Also, that "TFW when no beanie" wallpaper was a pretty nice touch:

I swear TIm went over this once when some rapper got arrested there. Something about how Swedes are very self righteous and think almost like a hive mind. Like how they welcome in everyone then throw them all in the same place and brag about how good they are or in the rappers case; how they were all in agreeance with the police that arrested him without question.

The part about the rapper is not true. A lot or even most people supported ASAP Rocky in the beginning, especially after he posted that video of those Afghani immigrants following him (although that probably changed after it turned out he tried slashing one of the Afghans with a glass bottle). I don't know where he got the idea that EVERYBODY agreed with the police arresting him from, but I assume he just went with whatever burger news outlets told him about the subject and was too lazy to check.
