the other night was the first time I gained any respect for Tim in a very long time. He did shockingly well in a debate that I'm sure he was 99% sure would just be a podcast where the guest validates all his beliefs. Having a major case of "don't meet your idols" happening right in front of you while you're streaming to tens of thousands of people must be a weird experience.
Now I know how Daryl got all of those Klan robes. He out klanned the klan. They probably thought he did it far better than themselves.
That said, has anyone checked out Daryl's stories? I am wondering if he is full of shit. Running around making these claims certainly seems to bring him free publicity and paid speaking gigs.
This might be of interest, Daryl Davis, the black man known for convincing KKK members to leave the Klan by talking to them was on Tim Pool's show last night and proceeded to call everyone a racist in an angry tirade when they disagreed with him. I am too tired to link or mark points in the show, but there are a few times Tim actually seems genuinely sad by some of the things Darryl said to him, Tim's demeanor changed, Tim seemed more subdued. Tim held back out of some sort of respect for Darryl. Tim could have gone in for a kill so to speak, Like when the dude from Gettr was on, but I think Tim sensed Darryl was actually getting mad and Tim wanted to avoid another RA type of incident. Judging by comments section Darryl pissed off the viewers almost as bad as rocco & emily did that time they were on his show before they tried to steal scnr from Tim.
As harsh and cruel as this sounds, I'm glad this happened to Tim. Killing your heroes is a vital step to setting yourself free from the bullshit of others and the world, at large. It makes you more independent thinking and less likely to be swindled in the future. Everyone you meet is just a person, with all the good and bad that comes with it. Everyone has skeletons in their closet and character flaws that they still carry with them. The sooner you truly learn and embrace that there is no such thing as a perfect circle, the sooner you are able to accept and deal with the reality of such inevitable imperfections.
From the way he speaks and acts, I think maybe he was just bullshitting back then and hustling as hard as that "hope not hate" guy was. He comes off as a complete race grifter, no better than Ibram X Kendi. While it's possible that the modern race grift has made him more insane, people who are actually rational and willing to listen to the other side don't just become like that overnight.
I think people might be overanalyzing this and inserting a lot of narrative where none need be.
Daryl grew up in the deep south during Jim Crow. Not only did he likely see some shit as a child and young adult, but sure as fuck did his parents and grandparents. (I was wrong, he was a military brat and spent significant time overseas, growing up in Belmont, MA since age of 10. Unclear on parentage. For some reason I thought he was born and raised in Mississippi.) It's more likely that Daryl has always held these beliefs about reparations, collective guilt, etc. and most never noticed because he was never asked about it and rarely ever talked about it. He just did his normal routine, played his greatest hits and that's the show. You ask black people Daryl's age about reparations and shit, and you will hear the exact same thing. In a way, Daryl is no different from the Klan people he tries to change: he has codified a set of beliefs, cultivated from within his community, about people and the world and he refuses to see it any other way. When that worldview shows cracks or is perceived as flawed, he becomes angry and accusatory, lashing out and casting aspersions.

Spending per pupil is often higher in urban schools (yes even predominantly-black urban schools) than in suburban schools and especially in rural schools. Much of that spending goes into administration and other shit that is there because the kids routinely ape out. Things like metal detectors and multiple resource officers, many high schools have daycares with daycare workers because the kids (students) are getting knocked up in 7th and 8th grade. It's a retarded assumption that throwing money at such a problem is going to magically transform fundamentally dysfunctional families and communities into the Huxtables overnight, within a few years or even a few generations without some serious introspection and changing of community standards.

The magician analogy at 1:13:00 piques my interest because I enjoy a lot of James Randi's debunking of various pseudoscience claims over the years and the way he has exposed frauds. Some people know of Randi solely as a skeptic debunking the likes of Uri Gellar, but he's also a legend in the world of magic.

I watched it a little while ago when it came out and the video is just Andy using compressed air to clean off the study PC while they make jokes about the coolant being Mountain Dew or something. I get this is Tim's brother's style, but it's part of why I stopped watching their videos, as they are very click baity with the most boring videos.

I agree with this take, I don't have any evidence to say it didn't happen, but the way he behaved and how sensitive he got it really makes me question things. Really what it could be is that it's a fish story, where maybe it happened once as a fluke and he embellished it to hundreds over time, or maybe it's like Bob Lazar, where there's some weird shit going on but the people who really take a deep dive into it realize how full of shit the person is. Kind of funny how all the people who debunk Lazar don't dig into his old interviews, but some body language panel compared his older interviews and newer ones and pointed out all the stuff that contradicts in the two stories as it becomes easier to fact check things over time.
