The funny thing is Tim's stance on race differences and achievement differences are purely political to show people he's no racist. When there's real study and science that is done on intelligence it actually shows the quality of the school doesn't change things that much and at most accounts for 10% difference, so just improving schools and resources doesn't actually change things substantially.

Good clip of a scientist discussing some of this on a podcast and I'd suggest people watch the whole episode as they get into how you're basically not allowed to look into if genetics plays a role in intelligence because the last few times they did it things didn't look good for minorities when accounting for things like opportunity and schools.

They even talk about a whole study that was done where the government set up Potemkin Schools to give under privileged children the chance they needed to prove it was just poverty, and turns out the only one of these schools that showed success known as "The Miracle In Milwaukee" was faking all of its data and every other school in the program showed you get about 5-10% in difference but the kids still don't come close to achieving things "privileged" students achieve. Then the whole thing was scrapped and forbidden because one researcher said maybe they need to start considering genetics as part of the equation as compensating for school funding, food, teachers, etc wasn't working.

It's also why hacks like Malcolm Gladwell are so promoted probably, because they find a way to spin it to show that the reason unprivileged people of one race still succeed (Asians and Jews) isn't because of something innate to them or their culture, but because their underprivileged situation is actually secret privilege because it makes them tougher and more resourceful, but those kids in the hood, they are truly underprivileged.

Achievements are generally tied to problem solving skills and intelligence. The lower your problem solving skills are the more likely you're to resort to violence and crime, think of it as a lesser version of tard rage as many people with extremely low intelligence have to be kept in institutions to avoid being a danger to themselves and others. I'd wager if you look at the IQ or other forms of intelligence measurement of poor whites, they'd probably have a higher result than poor blacks on average.

He also favors specific sides of multifaceted problems. An example of this is bringing up how Asians are discriminated against by artificially limited enrollment acceptance and extremely high expectations in academia,
while rarely bringing up the opposite side of lowering academic standards, and if he does bring it up he even more rarely specifies the races the changes are designed to affect. Ironically enough, ignoring the side of "racism of low expectations" to avoid a discussion of those lowered expectations.

The point that I was trying and failing to make was that it doesn't need fissures or other skin/mucosa lesions to infect somebody if they get it on the vulnerable areas of the mucosa. Fissures are the most common route cos they're the easiest but they aren't the only route.

The CDC page literally says that it's transmitted by respiratory secretions, though it must be all the way at the repeatedly coughing right in somebody's face end of droplet transmission based on the limited non-sexual spread. So droplets aren't a highly relevant vector but they're completely irrelevant for HIV so monkeypox presents risks that HIV doesn't.
There's already a hospital case that's been put down to either fomites or inhaling infected debris from pox/skin lesions, I've never heard of those being transmission routes for HIV. Household transmission occurs in areas where monkeypox is endemic with about a 3% risk of catching it (or 0.6%, depending on who the writer asked but those number might be for all strains) which is very small but still non-zero and avoidable.

The main similarity between monkeypox and HIV is the gay scene acting as a reservoir for infection due to that population's mastery of the most effective transmission route. Unlike HIV, there's a definite chance of stamping this out early on, due to it being a much more rapidly progressing, obvious disease that's also self-limiting and with a narrower window where people are infectious. The CDC puts the usual duration at 2-4 weeks so there's much lower limit on the proportion of a population who are able to spread it at any given time. It's difficult for it to spread silently like HIV but the extra infection routes will cause it to keep jumping out of the gay scene. However, the current outbreak seems to have been rumbling on in Nigeria since 2017.
It's not going to go into community spread like other poxes as there's few bridges for it to cross between households but people sharing a house with somebody who's active in the gay scene should be slightly concerned. It looks like virtually nobody who isn't already ill is going to die of the current outbreak of monkeypox but the CDC thinks there's an increased risk to children and it's assumed (since it's usually the case) that pregnant women and their foetuses are at an elevated risk of death.
