Did he really? I haven't watched the show fully, just a bunch of clips, and even I get that the point of Ziegler is that he sacrificed himself for his family and his men, as he even asks Mike what will happen to his crew once he's gone as he didn't want them to suffer for his error in judgment. On the other hand someone like Mike ends up fighting for his life to the end because he doesn't really have anyone at that point.
