Yesterday and today's episodes were so nice. Seamus really is a great host, giving everyone a chance to speak and not just getting pissy when he wants to change the topic. Ian and Hannah-Claire are good co-hosts for him, it's been a much lighter atmosphere even with the darker topics, and I think that really helps the show.

Proud of Ian for starting to work out, I think it'll be good for him.

I feel a need to point out that while I don't condone simping, I can at least understand the chat choosing Hannah-Claire to simp for, she's a cute girl. However I will never understand why they simp for Libby Emmons (last night's guest). No offense to her, but she is not attractive in the least; she's as gross as Lydia was.

Tonight's guest was decent, Connor from Lotus Eaters. Did a lot of British talking, not much to comment on, really.

Also, I do hope Seamus gets his FreedomToons channel back. Apparently he tried to copyright claim a channel that was rehosting his content without his permission, and YouTube bizarrely decided to lock him out, claiming his claims were false. Frankly, I think if they don't restore his access and remove the offending content from the channel he struck, he likely has grounds for a lawsuit based on how the DMCA works.

I ended up going back and watching the episode and it was really good. The three of them work together and everyone gets their chance to talk, especially the guest, and it appears like they're smiling a lot more as a whole, probably because they don't have to walk on eggshells at all times. Ian is also doing really well with providing more thought out takes and Hanna Claire actually gets to talk and she's much more intelligent sounding when she's not being cut off every time she opens her mouth.

Libby isn't good looking and she's not very well spoken. Really she was probably the weakest part of yesterdays show and often times tripped over her own points. As for the proper girl to simp for from the Tim Pool Flophouse, that's obviously Sleepless for she is properly racist.

Gu was great, and I think if this was the format going forward, they'd want someone like him as Ian, Seamus, and Hannah Claire aren't exactly very politically well versed and just know enough about politics. Tim isn't politically well versed either, he's just good for aggregating headlines, so having someone who fills that role is pretty good.

Once more, there was a good series of discussions, with everyone having a chance to comment.
& there was a flexibility to the talk, allowing for fleshing out topics & not hewing to a strict schedule, as Tim did with his segments.

The panel covered the potential for a Trump indictment for 6 January, abortion laws, MAID in Netherlands, the cost of student loan forgiveness, & Sam Brinton, the non-binary ponce of nuclear waste management, was on a state-funded trip when he burgled luggage.

Also mentioned was Seamus being locked out of his "Freedom Toons" YouTube account, & deleting his connected channels, after attempting to flag an account pirating & re-posting his Rumble content

Too busy at work to actually clip and archive this (or learn how to do it efficiently), but around 1:37:45 Seamus says the below in reference to Sargon building the Lotus Eaters. Given what we know about Tim's reluctance to ever let go of the reigns the statement jumped out to me.
It's good that he's building something over there, right? He decided to move outside of just having a brand based on his personality and started welcoming other people...

Another great episode tonight, same group of Seamus with Ian and Hannah-Claire, joined by Vivek Ramaswamy. It was an intelligent and enjoyable conversation, and while I already like Vivek, it just made me like him more.


Seamus again did a great job, with Ian really on form tonight, asking Vivek some really good and thoughtful questions, and Vivek really seemed to get what Ian was trying to say even when Ian said something weird. Seamus really does a good job not trying to be the center of the conversation. I like that he even goes so far as to ask Ian for his opinion and disagrees respectfully instead of just bitching at him the way Tim does. I think that calmer style works a lot better with Ian because he gets more time to think about what he's saying. It's nice to see Hannah not being as rushed either, so she's able to get coherent thoughts out instead of just sputtering out whatever she can before Tim steamrolls her.

Some interesting discussions on taking down the bureaucracy, citizenship, selective service (I like Vivek's proposal here, his idea makes it not gender-specific and removes the actual draft from it). Ian got him to talk about space exploration a little, and some conversation on current topics as well. A very nice episode.

Seamus had a little banter with Hannah, and the chat decided they were flirting. Probably the most entertaining superchat of the evening:

Its safe to say the worst part of the Timcast is Tim himself. He has really gotten bad over the last few years. What an insufferable faggot.

He takes himself too seriously. He takes everything as a slight on himself, and always feels the need to interject his hackneyed opinions while others are talking. This works fine on his solo Timcast channel, when he's just talking about news and giving his thoughts, even if he says a lot of the same thing; at least then it's not irritating because he's the only one there. But when he's doing the live show, he always has to be the one to talk the most. It's Timcast, after all, that means his opinion is the most important. The co-hosts and guest are just there to feed his ego.

Tim needs you to know he's a serious journalist and a very important person. A joke isn't funny unless he makes it. Taking out a billboard in Times Square saying fellow (and admittedly much worse) cow Taylor Lorenz was doxxing someone? Well that's "culture jamming" and a great idea. Alex Stein trolling AOC in person and calling her his favorite big booty Latina? That's dangerous and very bad.

I don't think it works fine on his solo channel. That's when I started hearing the narcissism and stupidity the most.
 
Finished watching this episode, and I've really been enjoying the shows, and I'm actually actively watching them now instead of catching bits and pieces while waiting for something else. Vivek is rather interesting and seems to be consistent across the interviews I've seen, but he did praise Mandela towards the end which is a little iffy. Right now, with what I know about the guy, I'd say he'd be a top pick if the system wasn't dictated by retards.

Hannah-Claire had a great question asking him why capitalism was so hated in younger generations currently, and he had an interesting response I didn't expect.

Ian did have one stupid moment where he claimed he was suffering from addiction so he started Minds to get him out of it. He didn't start Minds, he worked as a janny for Minds when it was newish. I'm guessing he learned this from how Tim founded Vice despite it existing 10 years prior to him starting there.

But really, Tim is the weakest part of the show and it's clear now. I'm not saying that to just shit on Tim, he's just very arrogant, derails discussion, and shouts at people when he gets upset. Oh, and he's picking fights with super chats more and more because he can't handle people disagreeing with him, and I really don't give a shit to listen to him have a one way screaming match at some guy who super chatted that beanies look stupid or whatever.

He was kind of rambling there, but it sounded like he said Minds starting and him joining helped him get better; it didn't sound to me like he was claiming he actually started Minds.

I don't know a ton about Mandela. Supposedly he's not as good as people say he was? I'm guessing Vivek probably just knows the basic textbook history of Mandela like most people.

Ian was trying out Hollywood in his youth and probably has some stories
Adam was a model and shooting some interesting commercials and probably has some stories
Luke has gotten arrested for his old Gorilla tactics and has some stories
Even Lydia as a nurse probably has some stories.
Tim has told all of his stories and at best they are "I almost went to a war zone."

Maybe, but Ian has claimed time and time again he was a cofounder to the point that Bill Ottman corrected him politely at least once while one the show.

I'm willing to give Vivek the benefit of the doubt as all of his other stances are rather good and that is just an offhanded statement, but for reference Mandela was a very violent person for a long time, supporting political mutilation of opponents, and had close ties to a lot of communist leaders at the time. He was a sort of BLM of his time, though he did realize he has to work with white people, instead of just killing them, as things wouldn't work without them. His successors failed to realize that though.

Hey, he worked at the airport too! It's not even just the caliber of the stories, but how he tells them. When others tell their stories, it's quick and to set up their next statement or to add to the conversation. For example, Ian's comment about working at Minds to beat addiction was a quick comment and was more about what he did to fight addiction. Tim's stories always come off as being more about patting himself in the back and rarely tie into a greater context, rather they're just there to tell people about Tim.

Or think of it like this, Luke talking about arrested isn't about how hard it was for Luke to be arrested, it's about the exposing of elites and their reactions to it. Tim talking about being arrested is a little about corrupt cops, but mostly about him and his dad, and you could just say it was the two random cops being dickheads as opposed to anything systemic.

Once more, each participant an room to talk, disagreements & corrections were made in a respectful manner, even when Ian made some out-there statements, it was handled well. As with the other Seamus episodes this week, it is entirely watchable.
But, I may be wrong, but Ian definitely seemed more amped up, tonight, going on some wild tangents & talking about the dangers of amphetamines ruining children, but still making some insightful questions for Vivek.

Perhaps it is because he is starting a subscription service, via that option on Twitter, for people to watch his work out & muscle development. Too much testosterone flowing, methinks...:

It is a very extensive topic, @anustart76, that I cannot really do justice to in a brief manner, but Nelson Mandela is not necessarily the heroic figure history marks him out to be. Nor is Post-Apartheid South Africa anything Americans should want.

Mandela was an advocate for terrorism against National Front-led South Africa, breaking with the African National Congress (ANC) in 1961, & founding uMkhonto we Sizwe, as a paramilitary group (Archive) with the explicit goal of using violent resistance, to topple Apartheid. Mandela was also an avowed Marxist.
Mandela offered praise to the likes of Fidel Castro, due to his support for various African independence movements, despite how poorly Afro-Cubans were treated in the socialist paradise (Archive).
While still professing a desire to stand against "black domination" as much as "white domination" (Archive), this did not stop Mandela from involvement in, & pleading guilty to committing violent acts, including to being part of a plot to attack a South African Air Force base via car bombing, which killed civilians (Archive).
While most in the West know him for his extended stay in prison & non-violent approach towards the end of Apartheid, he is not the saintly figure most imagine him to be.

Then, we come to the "Rainbow Nation" concept Mandela hoped to implement upon the fall of Apartheid, & his election in 1994 (Archive). The problem encountered was best exemplified by the Truth & Reconciliation Committee. It attempted to both offer Black Africans healing by exposing Apartheid injustice, & White Africans the protection of not being charged with any crimes outside of those already marked for prosecution. This ended up angering the more militant Blacks, as they saw it as perpetrators escaping justice, while White Africans that were involved in the military/security forces simply chose not to participate (Archive). Likewise, we are seeing a push for a similar committee in the United States to address black grievances, & became en vogue during the George Floyd riots of 2020 (Archive).

& once he retires from the presidency, Mandela left control of the country to a string of successors that alternated between venal, incompetent, or actively targeting the White minority for punishment. Jacob Zuma would sing the song, 'Kill the Boer', as late at 2010 (Archive). "Boer" being a term for Afrikaners (Dutch-descended Whites), as well as a more general term for White farmers. This came alongside a precipitous rise in attacks on White farmers (Archive), the song being judged as not a hate crime by The Justice Court, which adjudicates on these matters for post-Apartheid South Africa (Archive), & the removal of statues from the colonial period because they were "racist" (Archive).
This happens in the backdrop of Zimbabwe's massive re-appropriations of farmland from Whites & transfers them to Blacks. This leads the former Rhodesia to go from the breadbasket of Africa to a famine-ridden basketcase (Archive).
Despite this, both the ANC, & Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), came to support limited land seizures to redistribute farmland to Blacks (Archive).
Combined with affirmative action, via what is called The Employment Equity Act, prioritises race over competence, & furthers grievances by Blacks against "White males" (Archive) via emphasis on replacing Whites in particular industries where they dominate.
This is alleged to be leading to serious degredation in South African power generation, for example, which now faces regular brown & blackouts (Archive), despite plans to host the BRICS summit this August .

Bit of a ramble, but I had some alarm bells ring when Vivek made the statement, but I imagine it is from ignorance, more than anything. Hope this helps to explain a little more as to why @Retink Retunk & I note this as a potential negative.

That felt like a great stream to learn more about Ramaswammy. I had little to no knowledge of him beyond the increased buzz from pundits the last few weeks so it was nice to see him in an extended setting to have his positions poked at. I like him, I don't think he can beat Trump.

Tim has shown he can take a step back if he respects a guest enough (or is sick), but I'm glad he wasn't on the stream. I felt Seamus did a great job steering the conversation to help people get a feel for who this dark horse is.
