Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

I meant to say hotrod, fuck. Technically they're the same guy, at least before they started introducing hot shot as his own separate character in stuff but this is a good indicator of how tired I am most of the time I guess.

I'm pretty sure G1, Animated, RID 2015, and Armada are good for kids. Prime is kind of on the fence, because that show does kill off people left and right. [RIP Cliffjumper, Skyquake, Dreadwing, and Silas]
Pretty much everything before the bayverse was made primarily for kids (save for kiss players obviously) and a lot of quality stuff that's family friendly came out afterwards too but it was more aimed towards a mix of kids and older fans like the bayverse movies which led to a lot more stuff like what happened towards the middle-end times of beast wars and armada with characters getting killed but earlier on in the series. Literally the only thing I've seen get negative talk aside from the gripes people had with shit like beast machines and energon is Earthspark lmao. Only people I've seen praising that show are media review people who claim it's deeper/better than animated and prime and framing critics as "alt right" or whatever. people are freaky poisoned by politics clout bullshit these days it's unreal.

Cunts that think ES is remotely on par with Prime have literal monkey shit for brains and taste. Niggers have better taste than them.
Fuck you IG TF "fangirls" for making me and my friends look like pick me's because we have actual taste and decency. Choke on dicks.

Anyway, I pre-ordered a 3rd party Windblade. Don't know when she's coming though. I'm gonna set up a stand for her.

The Bingo one? It's alright, probably their worst release but still good quality. I'm looking forward to their IDW Jazz. Should look good with the IDW styled Optimus Prime and Prowl that's out there.

Is the show really that bad aside from the pronoun stuff? I haven't seen Earthspark, but some of the designs were good. It's nice having a Megatron that's not a tank for once, and Soundwave and Arcee got fresh alt modes. I also really like Twitch.

Ugly ass root modes though. Looks like they hired the Google art team to design the bot forms. Especially the faces. Disgusting.

Opinion on Transformers games? Don't see many discussions about them, much less their OST's. I find the varying quality rather hilarious, ranging from amazingly godawful (Such as the famicom and 3D beast wars games) to genuinely great (The PS2 Armada game, the 2 Cybertron games and Devastation). Though, with how elusive they are to obtain regularly, resorting to piracy is the only logical conclusion (which i have no qualms about).

with how elusive they are to obtain
YT video people keep framing transformers games as "obscure" or "elusive" to obtain but I keep seeing them used for normal used game 20-30 dollars ish range. Only one I've seen that's shot up to nightmare scalper prices is WFC. Unless you mean being unable to be legally obtained in NEW copies which yes you can't buy a lot of them new due to licensing shit. Wouldn't be as easy to do something as the cowabunga collection with transformers games because with the Ninja turtles games almost all the ones people like were published by Konami. The transformers games are a mixed bag of game companies and even then they were developed by studios untied to the companies that published them adding an extra bit of weird fuckery to the releases. Kind of fitting I guess considering Transformers' origin being repackaged 70s and 80s toys with their own lore made by a few different toy companies brought over and worked into a new lore which then got popular enough it kind of surpassed the older ones in public consciousness.

People unironically saying that Earthspark is deeper than Animated doesn't make me hate it any less.

I couldn't get through 5 minutes of it.

Hasbro doesn't seem to like to have their licenses out there for very long so once the license is up companies take down the games. They can no longer make money off of it so there's no reason to let Hasbro take all of it.

Pretty much this, yes. While i have seen some physical copies of Devastation for reasonable prices being resold, as far as buying the WFC games and Devastation online, that's impossible by now. This is why i've stored the best Transformers games on a external hard drive, because who knows how long piracy sites will keep them archived.

I still wish for a sequel to Transformers Devastation including playable Decepticons, but that will probably never happen

Their next game doesn't sound like it has a good chance of getting released. Devastation is getting some figures of the drones. Hopefully they make the large bruiser so they can turn that into the Classics Onslaught.

Another GoBot is going to be released, this time Small Foot. She doesn't look bad in her colour scheme though it should look better in person, it's a little too light on camera. Just need a Path Finder (black, not a blue one) and a Powerglide so we can get a Bad Boy
I would eventually like to see a Spoons, Tux, and a Good Knight too, though those require new molds.

The entire Earthspark line is being canceled in Japan!
This is unprecedented! That must mean that they're done with the cartoon as well.

I'm sure the pronoun crap was done away with in the dub. Japanese doesn't really have many third-person pronouns anyways. But the show is still stuck with the all black cast. That's going to alienate Japanese kids.
Me and my friend can't stop laughing at this. Get fucked trannies.

Not really, but it suffers from the problem of "Who was this made for?"

Transformers isn't the right franchise for a slice-of-life family show a la Steven Universe. Kids didn't even like Steven Universe, it was exclusively 20- and 30- something women watching it. That's probably what's going on with Earthspark, too. Kids and 40-year-old male nerds don't want to watch the robots sit around and talk about their feelings, they want to watch them go on adventures and beat the shit out of each other. It will never not frustrate me that much of the budding female fanbase insists on being catered to in every way when we're not even close to the main demographic. Stop insisting every fucking TF story have a romantic subplot, long drawn out talks about feelings, muh ~qweer~ representation, etc.

More specifically, I also think they need to get Mae Catt out of the fucking writer's room. You just know the obnoxious enby PSA shoehorned into the Philly episode was her idea, it couldn't be any more obvious that "Sam" is her self-insert.

The writing and tone is also wildly inconsistent. So you're telling me GHOST is this big bad enemy to be taken seriously... but they can't even find three Cybertronians walking around a major city undisguised. They don't even notice the SAME three Cybertronians sneaking into their own base. They're consistently made the butt of jokes, but we're supposed to find them threatening?
