Go to place here is Toy's R'Us. Target couldn't cut it here. Walmart was fine for awhile, after all I managed to get a few Snarls and Swoops for repaints, but now they don't bring in anything in stock in the boys section except for Lego. Still decent to get collector packs of MtG sets.

Toy's R'Us is also good for other action figures like Star Wars and GI Joe as well as some Marvel stuff, but you're better off going to a comic book shop for that. There's also 4th Moon if you're looking for older stuff, Sparetime Bandai Gashapon if you want a taste of Japanese gatcha stuff, Anime City for your anime model kits, There used to be a really nice shop close to the Much Music station in the basement of this one building that was so packed with toys that you could barely walk through the place. Wish they were still around even the owners were assholes. Navito is also decent for some Japanese imports if you're into that. Pretty sure that's the same store I picked up MP 01 and MP 05 back in the day just with a different name. They were also stuffed with boxes back than.

I got just about every one of my Armada figures from TRU back in the early 00s.

[King Of Braves]

Amazon sent me a bunch of figures today so I'll drop some quick thoughts for any fence sitters.

Megatronus: Tank mode could have used some more fillers, but it's not bad and the transformation is way better than most tankformers. Robot mode is big and beefy.
Prima: Truck mode is kinda whatever, but it's also a pretty neat transformation and very solid robot mode.
Solus: The weakest of the three. Good robot mode, kinda shit car mode. Very very fiddly, and the arm panels on my copy feel cheap and come off way too easily.
Slingshot: Shockingly good plane mode. One of the few planeformers that isn't just a squished up robot underneath. Really smart transformation of the arms into the fuselage.
Air Raid: Plane mode isn't as good, but still better than I expected. The leg transformation is pretty standard but comes out solid in both modes.
Bonecrusher: Personal favorite cause I had the G2 version as a kid. Kinda stumpy in robot mode, which I don't recall being an issue with the titan version. He also comes with a black piece that appears to cover the combination joint, but it gets really fucking stuck if you put it on the wrong direction, so be careful. Not sure exactly how it will work. I still like him though. Very good in both modes.

I finally have a legacy armada prime on the way thanks to finding someone that was selling theirs off... though he's secondhand and missing his guns and trailer... and kinda battered and beat up despite only being a year or so old... But he's not 80-150 dollars, and that's what counts! 40 bucks well spent. No way in hell would I have been able to afford anything higher price wise, and I really don't even have space for keeping another trailer around right now. I still have my childhood armada OP in a box in the basement, and from what I remember he was ok articulation wise save for the legs being stilted. Wish the legacy one's arms were more like the OG one but hasbro's oddly averse to sliding panels or sliding anything engineering wise to an absurd degree these days for no apparent reason so they have perma-hand fins blocking the hands in a way that looks kinda wrong for armada OP.

Hoping I see megatronus in stock anywhere, didn't get the preorder in before scalpers got it and he's always been a design I've wanted a figure of aside from the initial titanium one.

From what I've seen online, solus is oddly undersized too. She seems made to scale with the old titanium megatronus more than the legacy one. Someone pointed out in one review I was watching for the figure that they're usually depicted as around the same height as each other and then I was like "huh yeah that's kinda right what the fuck". The fiddly mention makes me think of how universe galvatron was gonna be a voyager but got shrunk down to a fiddly deluxe. Voyager to deluxe-itus strikes again?

just found a beast wars optimal optimus who was in good condition with his missiles, but missing his gun.
i got a little exited when i saw it... but a kid picked it up. It's a terrible thing to see the kid pick it up and bug his mom about it, and he flashed it only costed 2 dollars.
i had to do my best to not be a creep to ask them for it, but keep around in case they put it back.
lucky for me, she thought it looked horrible(90's astetic and being mangeled does that) so he had to put it back.

it's hard to hide the manchild within.

Also armada prime's almost here thank god. Was coming from some guy near-ish to me but then tracking had it go by my house and keep going northways a few states over, no clue what the fuck went down there.

I've only been starting to see a few scraps of Wave 1 in stores, so this is surprising. At least I was able to get Red Alert. I was a bit worried at first because of the Katoki proportions and the laser not being molded into the arm, but it turned out to be really good because it has a coherent vehicle mode with a feature (hidden cannon) and all the accessories can be stored inside the shells. It's exactly what I expect as the gold standard for Transformers, so I'm very pleased. I hope the future releases follow suit.

I also managed to snag one from Walmart close to here. Rather early for them. Gotta love the HST, least he didn't go to Niagara Falls for it, they have an additional tax that's used for just the city.

Every !nternet rev!ewer who has the f!gure cla!ms the horns are glued !n but !'ve seen photos show!ng otherw!se, and ! hope they are removable st!ll because he does lose them even !n that powered up state. !f m!ne are glued ! W!LL f!nd a way to get them out as my !nner aut!st!c ch!ld need to be able to r!p the robot man's ears off when he's hurt.

Also forgot to br!ng th!s up apperently but my armada opt!mus came a few days ago. He's actualy a lot less scratched up than what ! thought !t was. i really like how well legacy handled the unicron trilogy, they're pretty much 1:1 to the cartoons. The worst I could say is that i dislike armada Starscream not having his wing become a weapon and the shitty star saber, but it still looks and feels excellent.

besides that, I found a Legacy Transmetal 2 Megs for 25 bucks on ebay with the instructions and blast effects.



It has very little waffling, the joints are nice to handle, it looks pretty, and the Dragon is probably one of my favorite alt-modes.

K!nda m!ffed about the lack of sculpted fact!on logos on most of them and megatron be!ng colored based on the toy rather than the cartoon (he's much deeper green there). That and the odd blatant cost cutt!ng feature/eng!neer!ng/art!culat!on/pa!nt removal sh!t. Also the two m!n!con remakes be!ng locked beh!nd event exclus!ve box sets. You need to get the fuck!ng shattered glass rod!mus set to get wheeljack's m!n!con for the more egreg!ous example.

!f hasbro wasn't so averse to !nclud!ng anyth!ng more than bare m!n!mum eng!neer!ng these days they'd probably have pulled some easy but w!ld automorph sh!t w!th sl!d!ng panels to make armada megatron's arms more accurate and less w!ry. That, and t!dal wave would actually be able to transform l!ke the or!g!nal !nstead of partsform for every mode because all you need !s l!ke a spr!ngy back of the leg panel to go down when he bends h!s knees.

Hasbro has a super hard rule banning revisiting the Sunbow (and in the case of GI Joe, Sunbow/DIC cartoon canon after Beast Wars went behind their backs and made BW an official continuation after the initial revised edict that it woukd be stand alone after initially conceiving it as a continuation of sort.

Takara is more willing to revisit the Sunbow lore but Hasbro would rather stick to doing continuations of the Marvel lore or create vague greatest hits reboots like Dreamwabe, IDW, and Image. I assume because no one wants to deal with a season 2.5 deal where major characters and concepts are off limits in exploring the 20 year gap between season two and the movie/season three, let alone making a season five when the movie killed off a lot of popular characters, the fact that a lot of normies hate Hot Rod and Ultra Magnus, being stuck with Galvatron/Goldbug/Cyclonus/Scourge instead of Megatron, Bumblebee, Skywarp,and Thundercracker, and not to mention Nebulons who are ugly as sin geriatric Native Americans with green skin, the fail and AIDS that was the Hive, and the dangling plot thread that was Arcee as a headmaster.

Hell, IDW came up with a season three continuation of the Sunbow GI Joe cartoon based on the notes about what was planned for it and got told to fuck off; and this was around the time Chris Ryall was basically raping the franchise every way he could right underneath Hasbro's nose.

Regeneration One was a direct continuation but had a twenty plus year time skip for the first arc so it would it would be set in the present day instead of the vague as fuck sliding timeline Hana's GI Joe revival had and Furman could assure fans still pissed the fuck off at how much he put the focus on human characters at the start of the IDW era run he launched, that humans, that it would not happen this time with Furman having Megatron genocide Earth.

(also, Gen 2 was an old shame Furman hates to the point that he got IDW to unperson the run and never reprint it, while Regeneration 2 had a lot of plotlines Furman wanted to do had the original series not been cancelled AND also featured some stuff from Gen 2 Furman made peace with in IDW, most notably his revised version of Jhiaxus)

Also best version of Nebulons was always the Marvel version, which was basically Flash Gordon with white people Headmasters with evil John McCain Zarak and Prince Valiant Galen/Cerebros.

yes and no. Stuff got under the key and can't get it out. Got a replacement keyboard ordered by a family member despite saying i could fix it, and then that had several broken keys and wouldn't connect and arguments broke out.
i'm copy/pasting the i for this post, been formulat ing poss ible workarounds that don't make th ings too tedious or multi stepped.

EDit: forgot to br ing th is up but the cannon com ing off on legacy armada megatron/galvatron is lore accurate but not for the shockwave hand g immick they gave him.
