Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

The gray part is too large, and they didn't round its corners meaning it gets caught on the fins and breaks them. The solution is to disassemble the chest and sand down the gray part until it moves smoothly.

Edit: Transmetal Megatron suffered from Gold Plastic Syndrome which was an issue with a lot of figures until about a decade ago.

Wow, the plastic looks awfully thin/brittle in this image. I'd genuinely be terrified to transform the figure, without fearing it'd accidentally snap in half 😱

Jesus fucking christ thank god I didn't buy this thing. I mean I couldn't afford it to begin with but FUCK man.
Same. They fooled me once on Victory Saber, wasn't letting them fool me twice!

Makes me wonder if QC got skipped to get this out the door before the tariffs were enacted.
Doubt it considering these haslabs seem pretty much complete products that get tweaked a slight bit after getting funded. Haslab unicron had a number of issues with breakages and the tweaks they made made it worse (no lower teeth paint for some reason, leg shells don't fold inside the legs like on the earlier prototypes, etc)

Haslab's notoriously shitty quality control makes me wonder if Hasbro thinks fans backing Haslab figures will buy them no matter what/regardless of poor quality?

...actually, I guess they're correct on that front 🤔

Megatronus FINALLY fucking shipped! Also In case anyone's interested I noticed amazon has the bludgeon 2 pack on discount again unless they mark it back up / delete the listing save for third party sellers like they've done sometimes before. Missed a chance at getting a combiner wars g2 swindle today because I was too fucking tired and someone else got it, and then realized once more that the combiner wars stuff is NINE FUCKING YEARS AGO NOW AAAAAAAAAARGH

Yes, but the gold plastic syndrome issue despite being called gold plastic syndrome was more the cheap plastic used in certain figures that became freaky brittle in the span of like a year or 2 after release rather than the plastic's color. It affected a lot of, but not all figures with gold plastic, and in some cases depending on figure batch you occasionally would get lucky and not have it just fall apart if you breathe on it. Transmetal megatron's bronze plastic isn't affected by GPS, it's the fucking nearly black dark brown used for most of the figure that's what gets it and the connection around the torso's also tight and ratcheted. put those together and it explodes just the same as cheap thin plastic does. Almost every figure nowadays is made of some kind of sparkle filled or swirly plastic and it's always got me kinda worried about longevity even if in most cases GPS doesnt rear it's head again save for exceptionally rare cases like the takara version of motormaster from combiner wars. Already went over all that before though lmao.

Another QC issue for the list, those small fins are what create friction for the torso joint, it seems like the torso joint is too big and can damage/break the fins.

Discolouration on the plastic can be easily fixed, this concerns me more. It's too intricate to design and 3d print a new piece on my own so a 4th party will need to figure out a fix.

I'll have to do that first once I get some time.

I haven't had much trouble with my Haslab stuff so far prior to this. The biggest issue is things like looking for a place for them as they're too large and in terms of Star Wars, out of scale with what I usually collect.

So surprisignly despite being estimated like a day or 2 after shipping Megatronus hit my doorstep same day as shipped, and bizzarely the package looked like it was beat up and opened then resealed several times and had random bar codes slapped on the back bottom and front that I don't know the exact purpose of. The figure seems to be ok but the front chest won't tab in all the way and the ankles are PINNED IN AND HOLLOW like titans return galvatron so yeah, not the best stander sadly. I mean if you angle the legs he stands fine but like titans return galvatron his ankles are scary loose when actually standing up and it's likely only gonna get worse with time. Some other tolerances on mine seem generally fucked, the 5mm flame effects being way too loose save for one that's kind of too tight as one example. Cool figure though, will take some photos sometime probably.

i can't believe how a 300 dollar toy that was supposed to be the centerpiece of legacy has such a drastic flaw that it can come broken shipped.
It can arrive more yellowed and broken than a secondhand copy of the figures the bundle's remaking which is ridiculous. The project also got "value speculators" slurping up those original copies so stuffs more expensive now as a whole thanks to this thing.

Am I the only one that gets unreasonably annoyed by these internal magnet switches? Just hide a button in there. Tack on a dollar for the extra engineering if you have to. Don't make me keep track of doodads just for light effects.
oddly the attachment seems to be broken for me, but yeah the recent rise of impact/magnet switches in collector figures and kits with LEDs across the board is a very odd one.

budd, you will need to at least check it.
best yet, film it, that way you can prove the crack happened before you messed with it.
That reminds me, I found out a few days ago that apparently megatronus has a cracking issue too on the legs, supposedly due to them being a little tight on one mushroom peg. Mine hasn't done that yet but I'm wondering if the plastics in general are just even more shit than before in some areas.

EDIT: Forgot to bring this up but back when I got the walmart clearanced blitzwing about 2 years ago or whatever time it was it was scary tight to breakage stuck joint levels ont he legs and arms, bizzarely the hair dryer method worked on loosening them up despite them not being the same plastic as stuff that's normally the cure for locked joints with. May or may not work here, don'tt hink it will work though given how easily stuffs cracking on the omega prime.

Edit: Price increases will probably be a couple dollars on deluxes & voyagers, unsure on larger sizes/Takara releases.

At least the savings I currently have on PC parts for work can go towards picking up stuff for me and my son. I can't wait to see how expensive things get with the idiot down south not understanding tariffs and wanting more. An AMD 9950x3D is $240 cheaper here currently.

Doubt they were seized so it was likely blocked at the port until the tariff is paid as many companies are having to deal with. Currently they paused all shipments to America according to their website.
