Looks like Ironhide has his little gimp chair face inside the windshield, which is making me think my initial idea was correct, and that'll he'll likely be able to pull off both a newer more toon accurate robot mode and a more diaclone style suit mode, unless its just there for show, we'll see I guess.
Given the "commander" is just a voyager figure with a trailer yeah it makes sense they're around the same size. The orignal figure was made before size classes were a "thing" but it's kinda close to the older deluxes. this reminds me I nevergot around to opening the clearanced walmart exclusive reissue without a trailer from a few years ago they wanted like leader price for or some shit like that before it went on clearance for dirt cheap. That one was painted exactly liek the g1 figure though and not this toon colors thing they've been doing with the reissues lately.
By the way did you know yolopark has a limited kit of safety megatron ER I MEAN DECEPTICON AVATAR Megatron?
I was gonna order one and might still but it's like 25 dollars for a recolor of a kit that's normally 1-15 dollars you could theoretically just repaint into this. (and risk chipping but yeah)
Really like it though and surprised not even third party companies have done any recolors of megatron in this cancelled toy gun safety compliant color scheme yet.
El Segundo looks fine but Scorcher looks a bit rough.
Also I’ve always wondered why Hasbro don’t retool their original collab toys into existing characters. There are a lot of digibashes that turn them into a bunch of characters that would fit the mold.
i was linda hoping that ironhide could split up from the sled to get his other robot mode, but that he basicaly has two robot modes is already impressive.
Despite not owning the original Star Convoy, this repaint actually looks better than the original, but Nemesis Prime's colors mesh nicely as always. Makes me very tempted to get him, since one thing that Takara always does better than Hasbro is the painting
I dig that Ironhide a lot. But the probability of them redoing him in cartoon colors is high. I'll end up buying him twice. Obviously they need to do the Black Ironhide and Ratchet too. They'll probably do Ratchet in both his comic and cartoon colors.
I already have the regular Star Convoy. The black one looks cool, but I can't afford it.
I'm guessing later this year, maybe early next year we might see boxsets of Devastator and Superion in toy decos? Frankly I'm waiting on a Bruticus boxset since I could not find anyone in retail in terms of combiners except Nexus Prime and the commander classes of last year.
For the last decade or so, I've been pre-ordering everything online. I can't find jack shit at retail anymore due to eBay scalpers. I use BBTS mostly. Sometimes Amazon. Hasbro Pulse only as a last resort.
