Heh. I've been interning the last couple months, and am on the company's internet as we are housed on site.

Just about everything you can think of is blocked. 4chan, 420chan, and most of the other sites I frequent. Even stuff like JList is blocked as it's flagged as porn by the filter.

Not the Farms, though. Which really makes me think.

At my middle school they blocked most everything, we found a VPN called Psiphon that easily bypassed the filter and most of that year was spent on various sites of ill repute until one kid got a virus off a flash game website and got many weeks of ISS.

Reddit is blocked, but Imgur isn't, assuming you don't have a VPN.

Psiphon was the first vpn blocked then they disallowed downloads and then blocked extensions
I'll bet
https://maddox.xmission.com is blocked. But yeah, like Testaclese Maximus said.
thats what the Wayback machine is handy for

At my shitty dead end job the only thing I've noticed that is blocked are the various archive sites. (.is, .fo, whatever the others are). For security reasons/probably to use their crappy intranet/maybe even their bugfuck proprietary software the only browser allowed on company machines is Internet Explorer. Not even Edge. Fireable offense to install anything else. No wi-fi either, for employees or customers.

Oh and a bit bizarrely, can't log into my Google account from work PCs. Nothing on the employer's end, but both sites I work at get tagged inside Google as disallowed. It allows me to enter my account and password, but then simply refuses to allow me in. It also emails the Google accounts about a potential security breach. Every day for like a week after each time I try. Doubtless something about being on Internet Explorer, can't see what else the issue might be. Annoying as hell.

The last place I worked with a serious firewall, the internal network blocked nearly everything. There were legal security requirements and it could have been really bad had malware gotten through.

The public wifi was completely open, though. It wasn't the kind of place you'd want to be seen browsing 4chan or KF or anything along those lines, though. It's just sometimes the block was super stupid and killed stuff that was necessary to get to.

The funny thing about that is you could have all the best security systems and firewalls in the world, but it comes down to the idiot user who clicks on dubious links in an e-mail, or falls for a phishing scam, or sets a really, really idiotic password.
