Using Odysee to support the farms

Odysee has its share of problems, but I think it could potentially be used to support the farms. I think something that could be done would be to set up a Kiwi Farms archive account on Odysee (which we already sort of have) and use it to back up videos posted on the farms on a single (or board-specific) channel there in conjunction with local archives when possible. Odysee gives you LBC which while not being all that valuable, is just shekels for doing basically nothing. What I was thinking is that it might be possible to expand the report function on the farms to include a "needs archive option" which would inform designated archivists to then download the video from wherever and then upload it to a Kiwi Farms archive account on Odysee in addition to editing the reported post with the link to the archive.

Pros:
  • An additional backup for videos
If worse comes to worst and the farms gets fully shoahed and needs a full scrap and rebuild, we'll at least have another source to pull videos from
  • There's a lot of overlap with the Odysee community and the farms
Odysee has a fair number of active posters for every topic on the farms, both on and off-topic
  • It might make it easier for non-US supporters to support the farms
In the US it's hard to buy LBC directly and then transfer it, but there are other countries that have limited restrictions on this
  • Money for the farms that isn't purely reliant on donations
Just being a big channel on Odysee can be profitable. Even if people don't donate, it's still income for the farms
  • It can make off-topic boards profitable
I see a lot of videos posted on off-topic boards that need archives because they'll likely be deleted at some point. This is particularly true with the happenings board. If something like a cut portion of a stream becomes lost media outside of the farms, it becomes a draw to the archive channel which equates to clicks
  • More colab options
A lot of YouTubers seem to be getting more and more tired of youtube's shit. It's very much possible that a few with bigger audiences might decide to slowly transition to Odysee over youtube in the next couple of years

Cons:
  • LBC isn't worth much
This could change, but I just don't really see much happening with it. Granted BAT when way up in value so who knows
  • I have no clue how gay Odysee is about Copywrite claims
Assuming they're anything like youtube, it could easily turn into a lawyer simulator
  • They could cuck out
Bitchute did this so it's certainly not inconceivable that Odysee could as well

They want to have their cake and eat it - attract advertisers and streamers who quit/dislike Youtube at the same time.
 
I read they had to do the hatred TOS to be able to put the app on Apple store (lmao). They aren't enforcing it now, but will they take the knee later when the pressure gets too big and the financial overseers/payment processors get too involved?
