The stink on it is immense and unless it gains a genuine meme following (with people likely laughing at the game, not with it), there is no reason for these creators to flush half their audience down the drain by stepping on this political minefield.

Turns out games that heavily cater to politics have a smaller audience. Had this game been advertised as "Oh here's Malik he's going though his character arc here's some art of him doing something" and "Look at streamer girl she's currently trying to achieve more twitch followers but she really needs to achieve self peace and more real world friendships", instead of just making shitty meme shorthand and only saying they're BROWNBLACK would have brought in many more people then they do now.
This could have been an interesting concept, like a huge character ensemble piece that has them growing by interacting with each other, even if they find out they don't want to date or even befriend the other person, just respect and move on. The diverse backgrounds add extra layers to their struggles and joys, and it could be a gayer diverse kind of interpersonal drama with some good outlooks on loving others as friends and or lovers and loving yourself and accepting your struggles and flaws. But it fucking isn't because Dani wants to be known for her virtiousness and rather have other people write about characters so she can enjoy the fandom aspect. She is too ambitious and had too many teammembers appointed and now she has to coordinate other people's stories into her ego trip. She and the team have consistently vapid characters because they too are shallow and want to get asspats for good deeds before writing a good story or game. It's all so tiresome.

Girl, go back and look at the thread from the start since they had it like that from day one. All you need to do to see the styles and weirdness is to scroll through the thread highlights, it won't take more than a few posts to get the picture. You can even play the demo which still has the old clashing artstyle here.

If only the team had the characters do more human things. Malik slipping his mixtape into someone's bag along with a see you later note after said person passed out was the best moment in the demo. It conveys a lot about his character in just an action.

I think I might’ve alluded this before but funnily enough, Dani really doesn’t care about other black creators. Her interactions are solely limited within her little circle of dickriders and the validate twitter seems to only interact with other “indie games” that have a sizeable following. There are mentions from black creators on her tiktok wanting to collab with her but those have suspiciously gone unnoticed.
Now, Dani doesn’t operate the validate twitter but it is a tad strange that a game that puts so much emphasis on racism doesn’t use their influence of 15,000+ followers to boost other games made by black creators (and trust me, there are plenty if you look especially on a site like twitter, with numerous hashtags popping up EVERYWHERE, so it’s not even a question of being limited.)

I would say about 5 (Malik, Bigs, Arihi, Rocky, Alonzo). Anoki is gender-fluid so I don’t know if they would count because they look more female-presenting. Multiple characters use multiple pronouns so it gets confusing. 3 of the cast are straight (Ashley, Malik and Arihi the bitchass marriage counsellor) and 5 bisexuals (Biggs, Inaya, Keaton, Yolanda and Isabelle) so assuming you are a straight woman playing this, you only have 4 options to be interested/relatable to: Malik, Arihi, Biggs and Keaton.
Arihi, like you said, is a whiny cunt throughout his entire route and unless they give him a complete upheaval, no sane person would choose him. Bigs is virtually nonexistent and I sorely doubt Dani will let Keaton out of her basement anytime soon.
I assume it’s slightly better on the gay side but half the characters have 0 personality insofar.
Clearly the only worthwhile option regardless of sexuality is to play Malik’s route. Based king and best waifu.

We're on the same page: I've said it before several pages ago while doing a deeper look at her and Validate's twitter. Hardly a post promoting other game devs on twitter when twitter game devs love promoting other's projects. She's only reviewed big triple A games in her post of diversity rating and I hardly see her talk about minor indie developers. Would now be a good time to point out I didn't get through the entire demo and thus all of this is based solely on the character cards on the website? Transparency.

Spoiler: The bland muffins edition.

• Because I've thought this was an unintentional typo until this very moment: angle or yuor devil meme. Note the usage missing two seemingly important ingredients: the misspelling of 'your' and a secondary image where both showcase the contrast of being angelic and devilish. The entire advertising and marketing campaign of this game hinges on memes and this was done so poorly in contrast to the rest of the memes on these cards at least denoting some type of personality or information about the characters.
• Yes, I'm using up one (now two) bullet points on arguing against this game rather than trying to bulk up this character with an autistic backstory because what in the ever loving fuck am I supposed to make out of this guy?
• Alonzo Davids was a stupid teenager that made the decision to have sex and get his girlfriend pregnant. He will dance around the event to save face but it was all due to his insistence on not wearing protection and gleefully coming inside of her after his minute of fun.
• His girlfriend at the time carried the child to term and then dropped it off on his doorstep, citing that she didn't want to deal with having the death of a fetus on her hands but also knowing she wanted nothing to do with a kid at her age. Alonzo, who had been absent through her pregnancy, was floored but quickly took the child in due to his parents finding out about the baby (on the day it was delivered) and demanding he take responsibility for his actions.
• He now wears his stupidity as a badge of honor. He started flaunting the existence of his child upon learning that being a caring father on the internet got a lot of father-starved women wet. He gleefully went to school, bragging about the joys of fatherhood, whilst his family took care of the child and allowed him private time where he chatted and wooed more girls instead of studying to better support his child in the future as his parents stupidly assumed he was doing.
• Self-centered and conceited, Alonzo used the baby as an excuse to skip on college ("I wanna spend more time with my kid!") and dive head first into influencer territory. Every waking moment spent with his son was captured and only the best were filtered and shot out into the world. He quickly racked up a following with his persona as a fitness minded father of one.
• As he started getting endorsement deals, sponsorships, and a little ad money from his Youtube channel, Alonzo splurged on makeup, horrendous lip fillers, an intense tan, and a vlogger's dream set up. The baby had food, it was fine. Wouldn't want to spoil the kid, right?
• Still excessively uses Facetune. Also photoshop's his child's face. His Insagram is a horror reel of 'dad and baby have manufactured fun together!' two photos away from 'dad takes mirror selfie naked with his dick juuuust out of frame!'
• ACTUAL Lolcow of the ValiDate universe; most likely label his child autisic for points, go through a troon arc, date and then break up with another influencer who later exposes him as a piece of shit, get exposed again for messaging minors pictures and videos of his dick in DMs while his baby cries in the background, and still manage to cling onto his business partners because of his race and deluded fan base. And that's all before the explosive reality show rockets him to super meme-dom and solidifies his place on the internet's quasi-Hollywood totem pole.
• Will die looking like the Bogdanoff twins while his children (yes, multiple - some adopted) go on to release book after book and exclusive interviews about how Madonna-levels of weird and detached he was as they, too, try to rise through the ranks for that sweet popularity and fame as a replacement for their shitty upbringing.

• Anoki is a man that looks good with long hair and took that to mean he could pull off anything and everything: he could not. They would be wrong: Anoki's world should be a saddening cautionary tale of a parody of life but we're all living in it.

Continues to proudly flaunt his meaningless achievements from his youth because he has nothing else to show for his life.

As in "independent and fierce entrepreneur" they don't work a steady 9-to-5 and largely depend on various donations schemes on the internet so they can use the money to make shitty cosplay and buy more fursuits and furry art online.
• Creator of the werebullfox (normal people translate, I'm not spastic enough to come up with what Anoki would actually call it), an exclusive species of furry that one must pay to use or identify as. Didn't even draw the art himself, he got someone else to outline his imagination and now gets all the money from people wishing to borrow the abomination. #FuckCapitalism, right ladies?

After her rants about a lack of inclusivity in games, she's given The Sims 4 an 8/10 for consistently pandering to her (and for CC which has nothing to do with EA). The Sims 4, arguably the weakest entry in its own franchise, gets one point more than first Walking Dead game, an actual fully fleshed out completed game that you do not need mods to enhance if you want even a semi-meaningful and entertaining time.

They go out of their way to try and inject cultural ties to meaningless shit like sprays and skins, which is the bulk of the game's output at this point, and even visual details in their maps. They have a canonically gay man and a gay woman, several racists (it's okay, they're white robots), a short guy, a fat guy, a tall and bulky woman, an autistic builder, multiple characters without natural limbs, a robot that suffers severe PTSD, a GIANT GORILLA, a Twitch thot, a strong and independent Mary Sue, likable black people, cool old people, porn bait, futa-porn bait, China Evil, anime runner evil scientists, and fucking REINHARDT.

You're pretty fucking ableist, Dani, considering all your characters have arms.

But even more laughable is her anger over a lack of black women. Are Pharah, Ana, Sombra, Symmetra, Orisa (because Zenyatta counts as diversity to her despite being a robot) and her creator Efi, and Sojourn (who is the only confirmed character of vaporware OW2) a fucking joke to you? And if being black hinges on simply being African-American (as Pharah and Ana are Egyptian) and has nothing to do with skin tone, MOST OF HER CHARACTERS AREN'T BLACK EITHER.

Truly. After all, this is the perfect product for the people who don't care about quality or writing. Rather they are so desperate for representation that they love to see themselves in media no matter how horrendous the media is. That is blood in the water for people like Dani who take advantage of that.

Now, I get people wanting representation, although I think people should stop relying on media to get self-worth like retards. If someone's standard of media relies on the narcissistic aspect of "seeing yourself represented", that to me speaks volumes of the autism of that person.
