The sad part is that the creators won't realize the reason why their game is failing to meet a market, that being that most people are straight cisgendered individuals who prefer attractive-looking mates. Knowing how mired in delusion SJWs tend to be, however, they'll likely chalk up their failure to racism and transphobia of the gaming community, rather than tangible facts.

What they're missing is beauty standards exist for a reason. On a lizard-brain level, we are trained to tie beauty with health and vigour. In selecting for mates, allies, and family, this subconscious bias helps you to survive by aligning with strong people. There's a reason we associate symmetry with beauty and it isn't because of misogynistic, phallocentric Roman art. No, it's because in nature, symmetrical plants and animals were either living or freshly dead, and therefore safe to consume... probably. A symmetric face is usually both well-nourished and not inbred. All this is encoded not just in our brains, but in every mammal as well (they just don't question it).
Even if these expectations were social constructs, that isn't necessarily grounds for their destruction. Human rights are social constructs. Stigma against cannibalism and pedophilia are social constructs ffs. All this is self-evident for anybody not indoctrinated by the cause.

somehow the most annoying part is how they're trying to make these things seem human by referencing memes and shit. it's like they took the criticism of sjw characters being nothing but their racial and sexual identity and some terrible fashion, and thought "what if we added in some clumsy approximation of how we think normal twenty somethings talk, THEN would they be actual characters?" the answer, as with life is strange, is no.
