I think people play games dealing with sex and dating as a form of escapism and fantasy fulfillment. By that logic, the characters should look idealized. I mean, if you are a troon that knows that in a million years nobody would mistake you for a woman, then you would like to play like the idealized version of yourself, and date equally atractive people, not be reminded that your fantasies will never come true. If there was an ultra realistic vr dating simulator, would you want to date an avarage person, or someone like Scarlet Johansson or Chris Hemsworth, also, you would like to date them in a fantasy setting, like a luxury boat or something like that. I mean, maybe you could write a VN about the struggles of being transexual, but using a dating simulation template is the worst way to do it. You are trying to inject realism into a genre that exists as a way to fullfill a fantasy.

Dating sims don't necessarily need to be idealized (even beyond the appeal of the "idealized average" girl next door/childhood friend types), they just have to be appealing. Flaws can help make a character more interesting, add to the plot of what is apparently a plotless setting (player gets to know character better -> character flaw introduced -> player and character deal with flaw or issue, multiple outcomes depending on how it gets handled). Arguably the problem here is that these characters are idealized. The ideal their embodying is just one of checklist diversity. They don't see being fat and ugly as flaws, they see them as virtues that make the characters better. Being trans is something to be proud of, so you have to show it off by not passing! A black single momma with stretchmarks? Be proud of all that and show it of at every opportunity!

How are people supposed to know which characters they like or not? The game isn't even out and all we know about their personalities is they like quirky memes about hating white people. Can't really go by art alone either, considering how ugly it is.

I just understood what is wrong with this game. It's not the horrible character designs, not the boring setting, not even the awkward as hell name. It's not giving this game truly unique premise. Let write that for the team.

Goverment has noticed how unsual large amout people are ugly miserable bastards now days and after careful study have come to conclusion this do self hate and not getting laid right. To comfirm this theory they send you, an secret agent specialized in personal information gathering, to infiltrate group "friends". These the most uglistest miserablest bastards of them all, each more ugly, more miserable and more bastard than the last. These are the people you need to date and make better. Can you find out what they hate about themselves and help them accept themselves trough romance? Can you ValiDate?

I don't really see that good of a reason to go MOTI. It's looks terrible and it's an exercise in pandering, but most of this shit will be ignored until the game actually tanks and the devs blames transphobia as the only reason why.

Personally I'm just here to see whether the game will implode from internal drama before actually being finished. It's certainly possible considering what SJWs are like.

Interesting observation. There could be a cycle of profit for games like this. Now and again in @15 years.

'troons-to-be' play games like this to explore their potential alt-gender life.
Then they transition.
Then they age, and look even more horrifying at 40+. To the point of repulsive to all of humanity and themselves.
Then they come back to the troon games, to enjoy the fantasy life they never had.

This all assumes they actually LIVE, pre and post transition.
