Really need new games to play - please recommend in replies or leave detailed descriptions like I did so that other forum-users can help you.
Here are some games I like and why:

ONLINE/MMO
Warframe ~800hrs
Like about it:
* SCI-FI Setting
* Unlimited Progression/Grinding (do same mission many times, get different gear)
* Unlockables look and feel cool/different, lots of endgame content
Dislike about it:
* Got stale after a while

Marvel Heroes ~600hrs
LOVE about it:
* rare currency used for really cool unlocks (more heroes + costumes) can be dropped by ANY enemy in the game, so grinding ANY area is worth it
* low-stakes, chill open world areas where I could just sit back and click enemies while watching movies
Like about it:
* care about stories and characters instantly because, well I like marvel comics
* every unlockable hero has unique moves, abilities
* Modern-Day/Semi-SCI-FI Setting
* felt cool to grind gear for and level up my favorite heroes
Dislike about it:
* killed by Disney, offline since late 2017

Defiance ~200hrs
Like about it:
* Futuristic SCI-FI-ish Setting
* Cruising around the open world, doing small tasks felt like it made "sense" (Good rewards, progression from doing so)
* Lots of content
Dislike about it:
* Lack of polish
* Outdated graphics
* based on a stupid fucking TV Show I've never seen because it looks so trashy
* dead and offline for about a year(?)

Destiny ~400hrs
Like about it:
* Really interesting story and setting
* Awesome Weapons and cool story Levels + Strikes
Dislike about it:
* Game has totally lost me, all drops you get nowadays feel worth+useless, every few months there's an update soft-"erasing" your progress
* flat-out removed planets and story missions i liked
* just doesn't hit the happy-button like other games do on this list, never did that much, but now almost not at all

SINGLE-PLAYER
Borderlands 1-3, pre-sequel ~400hrs combined
Like about it:
* Looting and shooting makes fun and doesn't seem like a waste of time rewards wise
* Characters and story are easy to like and get into
* Fun to follow strict quest path but exploring the big maps on their own is also fun
* Lots to discover, achieve and score
Dislike about it:
* Mission design can feel repetitive at times
* most characters are cool but some are cringe and annoying
* got addicted to the candy crush minigame in BL3

Doom 2016, Eternal ~100hrs combined
LOVE about it:
* really enjoyed replaying Eternal to get every little collectible, secret and achievement - felt really accomplishing
Like about it:
* Story cool enough to enjoy on easy and then replay on hard for the added challenge value
* No XP, drops or currency to keep you motivated but the feeling of overcoming a challenge sort of mitigates this issue
Dislike about it:
* Both games are medium to long-ish for a single player game but after two playthroughs there's nothing you can do in them

Games I've also played and enjoyed but to a lesser extent: Planetside 2, Fallout 4, Just Cause 3/4, GTA games, Portal Series, Bioshock Series, Skyrim, Shadow Warrior

I dunno, the last three newish, modernish games I played I actually enjoyed were Dark Souls, Bloodbourne and Control. I don't really play a lot of new AAA style games though.

Monster Hunter is a series that will ruin your social life. I'd say start with the modern ones because they are actually mechanically fun.

You should give ARPG games a shot. Borderlands is heavily inspired by the basic design of these games. Diablo 2 single handedly sank my GPA a good point and a half in high school. Path of Exile is a more modern ARPG that’s free, which you might enjoy if you aren’t too intimidated by the passive skill tree.

OP definitely hates his life considering that he has spend 2000+ hours on shitty MMOs, some .png waifus would probably help his depression and likely anger issue from lack of socializing outside vidyas, at least he will no longer be technically an incel with a waifu.
go for it op, let your life be filled by skins, you dont need food you need dem summer outfits

If you like Doom 2016 play the Quake Remaster. It's not a perfect port but it's got a fuckton of content including a really sweet new episode and plenty of fast tense action for a paltry $10.

Gacha games, especially grindly ones like Granblue Fantasy if you hate your life, time or money.
Gatcha games are really dull if you don't wanna spend money.

The gameplay is what gets me into games, and gatcha games just lack that. On top of that, after 1 week of boring grinding and levelup/numbers going up, levels are impossible to pass, you can't play more than 15 minutes without running out of the 'stamina' resource. It's like the game doesn't want you to play.

Then you pay up, and do it all again for 5 more days. All so I can see my screen name higher on a leaderboard? No thanks.

How can you put 100s of hours into games and not get sick of them?

Also, how can you deal with the writer and "comedy" of the Boardlander games for 100s of hours?

kudos for actually having played defiance, but then following it with
based on a stupid fucking TV Show I've never seen because it looks so trashy
bruh....

that's literal consoomer shit (which somewhat explains the rest if your list), because by that definition nutrek must be the best thing ever.

Borderlands is boring as shit I cannot fathom why people enjoy it (or any other games of similar genre).

Plus the characters are all autistic.
