I really enjoyed that HoloTalk. Even though I'll have to watch most of it again since I had to watch the first 90 min on phone and 240p because power went down last night.
The only thing I want to ask is. Why the members only chat? Anyone know the reason for that?
Mayuyu continued his deep lore and revealed his new costume at Shinjuku. At the end of the reveal, he ask the viewers the question "Why is that side of the screen considered real and this side isn't?" What interesting about this is that Mayuyu's lore is not something he decided on his own, but it connected to the viewers action as well.
I'll try my best to summarize Mayuyu's lore without looking like the image of the guy with the wall of crazy. Anyone in the know feel free to offer clarification and corrections since the lore spanning the 2434system is vast, and Mayuyu's lore is deeply interconnected to it.
For those who aren't, just keep in mind for now that Mayuzumi Kai's profile is that he is a hacker with rare talent and learn the trade from a mysterious person he called teacher (shishou), and the 2434system is just like virtual Japan or virtual Australia like other vtuber background, just that this one is the virtual net. The main characters involve with the 2434system is three other livers which I won't be going into for the purpose of this story.
Background information about Yuuhi Riri April 1st stream, what Mayuzumi had been setting up over a few months prior concerning the discrepancy between his and the listeners information.
The prologue of the lore went back all the way to April Fools last year, when Yuuhi Riri (time traveler) become a completely different person and Mayuzumi ceased to exist, his profile description on twitter and youtube disappeared, his avatar became a solid color. On that day Riri announced her new outfit but through a call with someone she called teacher (sensei), speaks in a completely different tone from her normal polite language, and ended the stream with a static image. Worth noting that a few months back, Mayuzumi made some cryptic tweets of foods with strange filters on them, about how his perception and the listeners perception of reality were different, and he wondered was it because they live in different world and made a poll about whether or not he should take action. At the time people still didn't know what the fuck he was on about. He later claimed that he did not remember making these tweet. Sometimes in his voice pack there was an extra track he's not aware of. I have not bought his voice pack so this is from a third party account. They claim that the extra usually focus on his inner thought while the normal tracks are always scripted situations. Interestingly enough, he had no memories of doing these extra either. He would tweeted "sorry, there's no extra this time" and would be confused when the listeners reply that there was though. His background lore about the orphanage is posted on his youtube community tab, but of course he didn't know what it's about either.
The climax of the lore hit at the end of his 3D reveal stream, where he suddenly lost consciousness. You really need to see them for yourself because my words simply could not do them justice. It was incredibly unsettling, and I'm not sure Hoshikawa was let in on before this because her panic sound real. Around the 54 minutes mark if the timestamp didn't work.
You don't need to care about the journal. It's background fluff about Mayuzumi's days at the orphanage. Anyone who interested in diving more deeply can pm me for a rough translation. The more important thing is what came after.
A summary of what happens after Mayuzumi collapsed. There are a lot of screen flashing of images of the real worlds with overlay.
Both question read "What do you want Mayuzumi to do?" The options on the left images are "Stay" and "Disappear" while the right images say "Be happy", "A satisfying ending" and "Be free".
I'm not sure about this one. I think the question is "What do you think freedom mean to him?" and the options are "Liberty" and "Not liberty".
Then the stream flashed random images and the subtitles are the monologue of a different person assumed to be his teacher claimed that Mayuzumi is his beloved child and his greatest masterpiece, and while he haven't manage to completely control the 2434system, his interference has reach his (Mayuzumi) actual self. Today was a successful experiment and the day he'd release Mayuzumi from the layer draw near. You (the listeners) cannot see him. Only he can see him. The end was a call back to the time when he tweeted that he couldn't stream for very long yesterday, when in fact he didn't stream at all. It started off with the usual the stream is starting, but black out half way and the image of an eye and these words appeared on the screen: "All of you cannot see him. If it's me I'll be able to find him."
Finally the stream concluded with a monologue scene that on par with Blade Runner's tears in rain scene. The following is a paraphrase of his monologue. Seriously, my words cannot do them justice. If you can understand Japanese, go watch it. It's so important I have to said it twice.
The 2434system is actually capable of connecting different worlds. That's why you can have elves and vampires, demons and time traveler and whatever as livers interacting with each other, they did not exist in his world but they exist in parallel world. But even then there are certain incongruity that cannot be ignore. And that's the "Mayuzumi" he sees and the listeners sees.
"They know things I have never said."
This one refer to the stream when a comment asked him about Jan 2nd, supposedly the day he met Kagami Hayato for the first time.
"They see things I cannot see."
The tweet with the distorted images which his listeners could see due to the difference between them and his perception.
"They hear voices I cannot hear."
Referring to the extra voice above.
This one is referring to a Gundou Mirei's stream where she read her fellow livers' profile. In this particular moment she's praising the past lore that Mayuzumi posted on his community tab as "genius". She said, "He's really enjoying being Mayuzumi Kai", which confused him because "I'm enjoying "myself"? When "I" was already supposed to be "myself"?"
The screen flashed images of other livers who doesn't remember him when he disappeared on April 1st, then a quick cut to the text referring to the time the character design for "Mayuzumi Kai" was made public and announcement of an audition for his "actor".
I always thought "me" and the "listeners" were simply in parallel worlds.
There shouldn't be anything wrong with that assumption, but strictly speaking, isn't there a different?
Until now, there had never been so many incongruity between worlds connected by the system.
I am me. Mayuzumi Kai should be Mayuzumi Kai.
But they talk about "me" as if there another me inside that is not "myself".
They are observing me from 2D (niji) to 3D (sanji).
I thought that "vtubers" are those who projected their images and consciousness to the system.
That 2.0 and 3D are just simply system update.
However...
If I think about the meaning of vtuber as they (the listeners) perceived.
I (Mayuzumi Kai) and my reality (his parents death, the orphanage, his teacher)
...do not exist.
I might be a denizen of the "virtual world".
The stream ended with his realization and disappearance.
What comes after the 3D debut and still going on in his twitter even today.
There is a newly created twitter with the handle 2020/07/10 21:50, the time of his 3D debut. I'm illiterate regarding code so this is once again third party account. The profile picture is just the word "goodbye" in code. There are 3 tweets, 2 in code. The first one read "I have already left this world. I wonder if anyone can find this record and decode it using the same method I'm using now. If you can do it, then I'll tell you everything." The second one read "Where had that child gone? Are you wondering about that too? There's no way the current me would know. Though I'm sure this will become clear in the future. The true meaning of what I, no, he said. When that time come, will you play along again?" The third simply read "Coming soon..." There's no code this time. Keep in mind that this was decoded into Japanese, which was then translated into English so there maybe missing context and nuance. It was hard to even tell who is the person tweeting and who they're referring to, and much of it was left to anyone's interpretation.
The next part is when his teacher came to him in the 2434system, and he ask the listeners what should be done.
The poll read "Mayuzumi will", the first option is "Go to the real world together" and the second option is "Delete teacher and stay". As you can see, the majority of people voted for him to stay. He then went insane and deleted his teacher along with his own memories and is currently on the process of recovering them.
And it bring us to the present, today at Shinjuku. Before the event, his memories restoring process is at 19.8%, but after that he encountered an unexpected error and currently in the process of removing them for safety reasons.
Currently at nijisanji percent. What does this mean? What is the unexpected error? Does it have anything to do with his question at the end of the event at Shinjuku? Will his listeners pull a Detroit become human and declare Mayuyu is real? I have no idea where the next destination of this ride is but I have no regret boarding them at full speed ahead.

I'll start off with saying I agree with kson looking amazing for her age.
As far as the lessons go though. Every member basically goes to dancing lessons even though 99% of their content has no use for it and they're only doing it for the 1% that's Concerts and Lives. Which again, is fishy because Coco would technically have no use for it. I'm sure she'd go to rehearsals and stuff for whatever her Graduation stream might end up being, just like she went to rehearsals for her Birthday stream. But continuing her lessons just strikes me as a bit odd. And I feel like dancing at home doesn't really require the choreography and skills taught at professional lessons.
Dancing is better and fun than just go to gym as an alternative way of weight control. If she continue dancing lesson as a way to keep in shape then there’s nothing weird.

Gura confirms that she doesn't tweet much because "that's a lot of eyeballs on you if you say the wrong thing," so she just tweets the stream and pictures.

She's skeptical of "organic" branding, wanted to get into some documentaries she'd watched on the subject but was hesitant because she might say the wrong thing, then segued into whether formaldehyde from dead bodies would eventually contaminate food.

Gonna just throw it out there, following the apparent success of this collab: I think Ina and Froot would have similarly good chemistry since they are each the shy artnerd of their respective groups.
