I think it has to do with Youtube revamping their monetization system, there is a reason people is dumping Twitch now and going to youtube because the new rules are much better that even include monetization even if you are not partnered

Edit: oh yeah that happend during the shut down, tl;dr Twitch admitted popular streamers get better cuts (70/30) contrary to the 50/50 the pleb had, their excuse was that maintaining Twhores central was EXPENSIVE as shit, this came literally a day after youtube announce their flexibilization and improvements of their monetization system, it was so bad that several vtubers are jumping ship from twitch to youtube because the 70/30 is infinitely more better, iirc Codemiko and other indies fucked off from Twitch

Twitch is just a shithole as a whole. Youtube isn't great but it's serviceable at least and they always at least gave creators over 50% of the profit so that creators were the primary owners of their work. It's only 55-45 on ad revenue, but supers and memberships are 70-30 for youtube, while Twitch starts at 50-50 and then if you're super lucky you might get 70-30. If donos come from Apple Pay, then Apple also takes a cut before anyone else which is just a shit show.

There's no way indies can make Twitch work with how shit revenue is on any of these places. Worse yet, Twitch also forces people to keep their shit exclusive on there for a period of time whereas youtube doesn't really give a shit.

Edit: I thought maybe Twitch pays more per 1k views, but nope, on average youtube will pay about 4$ per 1k, but it's easy to make more than that per 1k. Apparently Twitch averages 3.50$ per 1k so it's not like you're getting more for your views to compensate for the worse split

Correction: recently twitch announced they were revoking the 70-30 split for anyone who makes over 100k, honestly dont understand why anyone sticks with twitch, seems like the shittiest possible choice
